A mildly refreshed 2026 Honda HR-V has debuted and is arriving now at North American dealerships, continuing as the brand’s smallest and most affordable crossover. The subcompact SUV is among the top sellers in its class, and since it’s available with AWD, it competes directly with the Chevy Trailblazer.
“As our gateway SUV, the Honda HR-V continues to bring in a new generation of customers to our brand,” said Jessika Laudermilk, assistant vice president of Honda National Auto Sales. “Now with even sportier styling and more standard tech, the award-winning second-generation HR-V will further expand its incredible success with young and multicultural customers.”
The HR-V’s styling refresh is so mild that you’d be forgiven for not noticing anything different from earlier models. The lower front grille appears to be slightly larger, and the garnish on the lower rear fascia is a little different. It also has some new paint and wheel options and gloss black tailgate badging on the Sport trim.
There are some bigger enhancements on the inside. The big one is that the 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay now comes standard on every trim. Previously, a 7-inch screen was standard on the base LX model. A wireless charging pad is also standard.
Honda is leaning into the HR-V’s popularity with Gen Z and Hispanics. Honda claims the HR-V is America’s most popular SUV with first-time and Gen Z buyers and the number-one subcompact crossover for Hispanic buyers. It’s no secret that tech features like big screens, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a wireless charger are important to younger car-buying demographics, which is why they’re now standard in the 2026 Honda HR-V.
The 2026 Honda HR-V retains the same trim structure as before. LX is the base trim, Sport is the mid-range trim, and EX-L is the premium trim. Across the board, FWD is standard, and AWD is optional. A naturally aspirated 2.0L I4 continues as the HR-V’s sole engine option. Pricing starts at $27,595, which is a little higher than the starting prices of both the LS and LT trims of the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer.

I know it will probably go 500,000 miles, but it sure is ugly. 😂🤪😂
The front end is the epitome of a typical old style ‘korean'(!), -horrible.
500,000? The Honda of today is not the Honda of old.
Yes, the Honda’s of the 80’s were lucky to get much more than 8 years service before going to the junk yard. I could never figure out why people thought they last forever.
In other markets, the Honda HRV is a very handsome car with a hybrid option. In the US, we get this ugly HRV with no hybrid option. Pity.
