The second-generation Buick Envision first launched in the U.S. in conjunction with the 2021 model year, and has since earned a name for itself thanks to attractive styling, an upscale interior, and competitive pricing. Now, the 2026 Buick Envision looks to continue that momentum with a few key updates, and GM Authority has learned when production of the 2026 model year will officially get under way. That said, it’s possible that vehicle pricing could take a hit as a result of recent tariffs implemented by the Trump administration.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2026 Buick Envision is currently scheduled to begin on August 4th, 2025. Dealer orders for the 2026 model opened on May 15th. However, it’s important to note that this production start date is tentative and may change, especially in light of recent tariff changes.
As was the case for the 2025 model year, the 2026 Buick Envision will be manufactured at the GM-SAIC Jinqiao facility in China. It’s still unclear at time if pricing will be impacted by the Trump administration’s import tariffs, though the U.S. and China recently agreed to significantly reduce respective tariffs for a few months. Either way, GM is expected to face a significant increase in costs that could affect the Envision’s positioning as an affordable premium crossover.
Beyond the pricing and tariff drama, the 2026 Buick Envision will introduce two new exterior paint options to keep the model fresh. The two new hues include Midnight Opal (color code GPD) and Quartz Blue Metallic (color code GKT).
Aside from the new paint colors, the 2026 Envision is expected to carry over largely unchanged from the 2025 model year. Under the hood, the 2026 Buick Envision is powered by a 2.0L I4 LSY turbocharged gasoline engine, which is rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
The four-cylinder engine is paired with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, with standard all-wheel drive (AWD) offered across the lineup. Under the skin, the Buick Envision rides on the GM E2 platform.
Comments
Envision is GM’s best design. Should be easy to build beside Nox as they are platform mates.
Envision could probably ride on VFF platform easy enough. Design could be an evolutionary tweak and serve as 3ed generation
It’s not on the Equinox platform. It is on the discontinued Cadillac Xt4 platform
Will be nice to purchase a fully loaded Envision ST (or any Buick) without a sunroof?

I think the ENVISION is a great “all around car”. It’s got luxury looks and styling, good acoustics, good mechanical engineering, kind of a small Cadillac feel BUT, hard to get into without hitting your head or messing up your hair, or bending your back more than you want even with the seat down reasonably. The roof needs to be 1 – 2 inches higher. I even think it would look better. Too many GM cars seem to be adopting that lower flat roof design. Seniors aren’t kids anymore. How about making it a little easier for them (6 foot man) to get in the car they bought. There are other midsize SUV’s out there with that 1-3 inch extra room.
Maybe if Buick would stop forcing you buy a sunroof you can get an extra 2 inches of needed space.
