SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), General Motors’ second joint venture in China, has just officially announced the updated 2025 Wuling Starlight EV sedan for the Asian country.
The 2025 Wuling Starlight EV is soon arriving in China, the only country where Wuling’s electrified midsize sedan is officially manufactured and sold. The 2025 Starlight sedan will feature notable changes, including an updated interior design, new driver assistance systems, powertrain enhancements, and a new color scheme.
In particular, the 2025 Wuling Starlight EV will usher in the second model year of the vehicle’s all-electric variant, and SGMW is taking advantage of the vehicle’s annual changeover to update several aspects tailored to the latest solutions available within the Wuling brand. The changes are also expected to roll out shortly to the plug-in hybrid powertrain variant, which features a slightly different front-end design.
Aesthetically, the 2025 Wuling Starlight EV retains the same exterior design as the 2024 model, though receiving minor trim tweaks. For example, entry-level variants now get a new 17-inch multi-spoke black wheel design, while the color palette is now limited to the three most popular options: Curtain Black, Shining Gold, and Shining White.
More importantly, the 2025 Wuling Starlight EV will feature an updated interior design with the brand’s latest styling cues, including Wuling’s newest steering wheel, an all-new dashboard with more soft-touch surfaces, new front door panels, a redesigned center console, and the latest version of the company’s Ling OS operating system. The sedan’s cabin changes will be complemented by a pair of new colorways.
The updated 2025 Wuling Starlight EV sedan will be officially launched later this month in China, with immediate sales through SGMW’s authorized dealer network in the country. The upgraded 2025 Starlight is also expected to feature significant tweaks to the all-electric powertrain, with new battery packs increasing overall driving range. Technical specifications will be revealed at the launch.

One ugly and homely sedan.
Speaking of electric sedans, what ever happened to the Cadillac CT5 size electric sedan that was big news a year or so ago?
Maybe the whole idea “shorted” out. LOL
Am I the only one who thinks the driver’s door is too short compared to the passenger’s?
GM does something stupid AGAIN!
Looks to be Asian specific countries, probably not even a true GM
This is what happens when you let a woman run your company.
What women were leading GM & Chrysler when they fell apart and declared bankruptcy? I’ll wait.
No specs mentioned at all in the article?
Its ugly, its Electric and its Chinese…why bother???
The article repeatedly glamouring about the new interior design yet provide no pictures of it, go figure.
Put on bigger wheels and tires and you have a nice-looking ride.
‘Looks like a Malibu with a Tesla nose grafted on…
I expect the changes were made to accommodate people with a height of 3 to 5 feet .
I guess it qualifies to be a Buick. Just tack on the 555 to the front melting hood and instant Buick.
Buick needs this to fill their showrooms
