As GM Authority exclusively reported just a few days ago, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) has just officially launched the 2026 Baojun Yep Plus in China with significant technical upgrades.
General Motors’ second joint venture in China has launched the 2026 Baojun Yep Plus in the country’s domestic market, comprehensively improving the entire offering of the all-electric crossover that introduced the box-like shape to the small-utility segment, which has been adopted by other Chinese brands due to the success of the Baojun model. The 2026 Yep Plus featured an improved interior and two new battery pack sizes to continue its class leadership.
Notably, the 2026 Baojun Yep Plus marks the third model year of the brand’s electric crossover in the Chinese market after a brief sales period for the 2025 model in that country – the only country worldwide where the model is officially manufactured and marketed under the Baojun logo. The launch of the 2026 Yep Plus was moved forward in the face of increasing competition from Chinese brands, and the start of rebadged exports as the Chevy Spark EUV.
The upgraded 2026 Baojun Yep Plus launches in China with four variants across two trim levels, differentiated by the three available battery pack configurations. Options range from the new 32 kWh base version with a range of 301 km or 187 miles, the existing 42 kWh version with 401 km or 249 miles, and the new 54 kWh option with a maximum range of 501 km or 311 miles on a single charge.
In addition, the 2026 Baojun Yep Plus features a more technologically advanced and streamlined interior, including a new infotainment center panel with a larger 12.8-inch display and the latest version of SGMW’s Ling OS with a comprehensive AI voice assistant. The 2026 Yep Plus also features a new standard five-seat configuration, with a redesigned rear bench seat to accommodate up to three passengers instead of two.
The upgraded 2026 Baojun Yep Plus is now available for sale through SGMW’s dealer network in China, where it is offered in three Smart Edition trims with ranges of 301, 401, and 501 km, and a Flagship Edition featuring the largest battery pack and a 501 km range. Color options have also been expanded, with new Sun Chaser Orange and Super Shadow Gray added to the existing five.
Here is pricing for the improved 2026 Baojun Yep Plus in China:
- 2026 Yep Plus Smart 301km: 72,800 yuan (about $10,120 USD at current exchange rates)
- 2026 Yep Plus Smart 401km: 82,800 yuan ($11,500 USD)
