First 2026 Chevy Spark EUV Units Heading To South America

After the electric crossover made its global debut in Brazil in mid-February, General Motors has just announced that the first units of the brand-new 2026 Chevy Spark EUV have been shipped to South America.

The automaker’s Brazilian subsidiary announced that the first 650 units of the brand-new 2026 Chevy Spark EUV destined for South America have already been shipped from the SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) joint venture’s main plant in Liuzhou, China. In fact, the subsidiary’s own president traveled to the Asian country to test and announce the release of the first production units of the Spark EUV for the regional market.

“The new Chevrolet Spark EUV – the brand’s 100-percent electric urban SUV, which will certainly surprise consumers who value design and smart solutions,” said GM South America President, Santiago Chamorro. “This transformation is already under way. The first 650 units are already being shipped to South America, and sales at dealerships will begin later this year,” he added.

Specifically, the CEO of GM South America visited the manufacturing facilities for the new 2026 Chevy Spark EUV at the Chinese plant responsible for supplying the international markets where the model will be introduced – including more than 40 emerging countries in Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. The first batch of sales-ready units is on its way to the southern region of the continent to support the model’s imminent regional launch in Brazil.

Based on the successful Baojun Yep Plus, the 2026 Chevy Spark EUV represents the Bowtie brand’s smallest electric utility vehicle that will mainstream zero-emission technology by positioning itself at the lower end of Chevrolet’s EV portfolio. However, the Spark EUV will launch exclusively with the top-of-the-line Activ trim level and many standard tech features, as well as a single electric motor developing 101 horsepower and 133 pound-feet of torque.
