About Chevy Equinox
The 2026 Chevy Equinox arrives largely unchanged compared to the all-new 2025 model year, introducing only a handful of modest updates. As GM Authority covered previously, this includes a revised paint options list.
The 2026 model offers the same turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine as before, which continues from the previous generation, producing 175 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque when paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission in front-wheel-drive units. In all-wheel-drive configurations, the Equinox is equipped with the GM eight-speed automatic transmission, while engine torque is increased to 203 pound-feet.
The 2026 Equinox doesn’t yet offer a trailering package, but it’s capable of towing up to 1,500 pounds.
Pricing with options and packages for the 2026 Equinox shows it unchanged from the 2025 model year, with a starting MSRP of $29,995 for the base-level LT trim with front-wheel-drive and $34,395 for the Activ and RS trim levels with all-wheel-drive. Prices include a destination freight charge of $1,395, which remains the same as well.

Comments
I’m not sure about the protruding oversized grills on some of the new GM’s especially the Equinox and Buicks. It seems a bit exaggerated, especially considering the tiny turbo engines that certainly don’t need the extra cooling.
Mel look at all of the pictures it looks like there are two different front end grills that IMO are not that big at least it doesn’t look like the awful Toyota Highlander Toyota ruined the look with the GIANT razor grill and it’s even bigger then the Buick grill. I like this new Equinox I’m glad it finally kinda looks like a small truck SUV even though it isn’t. Oh and BTW as far as turbo cars go the more air the engine and turbo get the better regardless of engine size plus a little bit bigger gril helps with cooling as well.
