The GM Authority Take
GM’s best-selling Chevy Tahoe and Suburban duo remained at the top of the heap among mainstream full-size SUVs to start the year. Even better, combining Tahoe and Suburban sales with those of the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL gave The General a towering 71 percent share of this highly lucrative space.
We attribute the healthy results and solid growth to the refreshed Tahoe and Suburban, which launched late last year as 2025 models.
But it won’t be easy going for the Chevy and GMC models, since FoMoCo recently answered in kind with its redesigned 2025 Ford Expedition, offering features not found in Chevy and GMC SUVs to take on The General. Since The Blue Oval’s updated flagship just arrived during Q1 2025, sales are currently impacted by a generational changeover, so time will tell to see if the updated model makes a dent in GM sales.
About Chevrolet Tahoe And Suburban
The refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe and refreshed 2025 Chevy Suburban showcase new styling inside and out, suspension improvements, many tech features, plenty of standard features across various trim levels, and a revised diesel engine option.
The new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine delivers more power and torque than the outgoing 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel. Design changes to the 2025 model finally make that powerplant option available on the Z71 trim level for the first time, which is incidentally the most popular trim for the full-size SUV.
Other updates include new trailering assists and expanded availability of the vaunted GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance system, while rear lighting finally goes all-LED.
The refreshed duo also gets nine additional wheel combinations, including first-ever 24-inch alloy options for the two nameplates, and features trim-specific exhaust tips.

Comments
It’s remarkable that GM dominates the body-on-frame, full-size SUV’s marketplace, while Ford dominates the body-on-frame full-size light truck marketplace. Can anyone explain this?
I don’t know the reason.
Here on Qatar we have unsold Expeditions on the lot from 2023….
Why not hand ’em out in Washington DC for more “favors” ?
If you can GIVE AWAY a 747,
Expeditions are like pocket change.
GM actually outsells Ford when you combine Chevy and GMC in the fullsize truck market
