Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, which represents Cadillac Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), has been quietly struggling to post good results throughout the 2025 racing season. They turned that result around by heading to the Hyperpole round at Spa-Francorchamps on May 9th, 2025, and following their qualifying efforts up with a top-five finish during the race the very next day.
Two Cadillac Racing V-Series.R race cars took to the track under the Team JOTA banner. The No. 12 V-Series.R was split between drivers Alex Lynn, Norman Nato, and Will Stevens, while Earl Bamber, Sebastien Bourdais, and Jenson Button shared the No. 38 V-Series.R.
The No. 12 Cadillac Racing team qualified fifth, thanks to Lynn’s skill behind the wheel and a lap of 2 minutes, 00.246 seconds around the 4.5-mile 19-turn course. The No. 38 V-Series.R, meanwhile, driven by Bamber, posted a best lap of 2:00.887, enough to qualify 10th best.
Thankfully, both Cadillac Racing teams had a quiet day at Spa. The No. 12 V-Series.R kept pace with the leaders for most of the race, running second until Lynn pitted with 12 minutes left on the clock. The entry fell to fifth place and stayed there, pulling off the team’s best finish so far this year. They were followed by the No. 38 V-Series.R, which crossed the line sixth.
The No. 51 Ferrari team won the overall race. The FIA WEC notes that Spa drew its largest crowd in 14 visits to Spa last weekend, packing 98,974 spectators into the grandstands for the annual six-hour endurance race.
As a reminder, Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA races under a special gold livery. Both of its entries feature a gold, black, red, and white paint scheme, reminiscent of colors within the Cadillac crest itself. Said colors were revealed earlier this year at the the Cadillac City Paris Experience Center in France as the luxury marque continues to expand its presence in the country.
