Cadillac Optiq Wins 2025 Wards 10 Best Interiors And UX Award

The Cadillac Optiq all-electric luxury crossover has won a place at the top of the 2025 Wards 10 Best Interiors and UX Awards, with UX standing for “user experience,” the latter focusing on tech that makes the vehicle more enjoyable for occupants.

According to Wards, the winners – including the Cadillac Optiq – “exhibit a strong trend toward either light-colored cabins and/or those with bold accent colors” along with “excellent user-experience technologies.”

One of the awards judges, Christie Schweinsberg, mentioned the Cadillac Optiq as one of several models “leaning heavily on ivory or pale beige and gray tones.” She says these interior colorways produce “a serene space for drivers and passengers and helps soften the stress that can come with increasing amounts of technology” as well as crowded roads.

Among the interior colors offered on the 2025 Cadillac Optiq, a colorway matching this description is Sky Cool Gray paired with Santorini Blue accents. The Optiq’s cabin also drew praise for its “out-of-the-box decorative trim” with clear or smoked acrylic mentioned.

On the UX side, Android Automotive OS is used in most of the award winners, including the Optiq. Dave Zoia, another of the Wards judges that picked the top 10 winners for 2025, remarked that “the Android OS simply works well.” He added that it avoids “eating up engineering time” so that the UX designers can focus instead on “user-experience innovations that better delight customers.” The Optiq was specifically named for “offering atypical apps” for infotainment systems such as Tidal and Waze.

Pricing for the Cadillac Optiq makes it the luxury marque’s most affordable EV, with the Luxury 1 trim priced at a starting MSRP of $54,390 and the range-topping Sport 2 priced at $57,090. These prices include a $1,495 destination freight charge. For those who want to try out various builds and pricing combinations the Optiq crossover’s official configurator is now live online.

  1. I sat in one at the Auto Show and it had an amazing interior. Right after I sat in a Honda Accord and the Honda was so so Cheap in comparison. Good Job GM. We never credit GM because people on the internet are complainers but we never congratulate GM for a job well done. I would easily buy this over any import. I also rented a GV60 2 months ago and it was one of the worst cars I have ever driven.

    1. The good thing is that as time progresses, they will grow quiet. They are simply a vocal minority. The rest of see that we’ve reached the limits of ICE vehicles, but have only just began with EVs.

There are so many business opportunities that will come with EVs, from infrastructure to recycling.

      1. The electric motor has been around for as long as the internal combustion engine.

The issue has always been one of energy density, and it’s really hard to beat petrol.

    2. Genuinely asking, do the Optiq, Lyriq, and Vistiq have the same interior? Specifically in the front? I’ve only seen video reviews and they look pretty similar.

      1. Similar because they are all Cadillacs?

        1. I was asking if they have the same interiors as it brings into question why the Optiq is listed and not the other two.

      2. They all have the same instrument screen and switchgear but the rest of the interior is different.

    3. The comparison is the Acura ZDX, not an ICE Honda.

  2. Saw my first Optiq in the wild today. Just as gorgeous as its larger Lyriq sibling. But just like the Equinox EV, I was a bit pleasantly taken aback by its size. Its larger in person than it looks in photos.

    1. It is really hard to see the point between Optiq and Lyriq. Which is why GM watched Lyriq sales drop by almost the same amount as Optiqs they sold (at a cheaper price point)

      1. The Lyriq has a nicer interior than the Optiq. Its more plushy with open pore wood trim and nappa leather while the Optiq seems more sporty focused. And the difference in sizes is still pretty noticeable. The Optiq looked like a small SUV (though not too small, more comparable to a Model Y), but the Lyriq, felt like driving a large electric luxury wagon. I still like the Lyriq more but I always prefered the land yacht nature of a Caddy over the sporty ones unless its a V.

  4. Dark blue interiors can look very classy. It wasn’t unusual back in the day when color interiors were offered, that black factory made Caddy limo’s had dark blue interiors.
