Competitive Sales Comparison (USA)
The Cadillac Escalade (see running Cadillac Escalade sales) remained by far the best-selling full-size luxury SUV in Q1 2025 as sales swelled 39 percent year-over-year to 12,683 deliveries. Note that sales of the regular-length Escalade and the extended-length Cadillac Escalade ESV are combined this quarter, and not broken out.
The Infiniti QX80 moved into second place with a 64 percent jump in sales to 4,064 units, slightly edging out the Lincoln Navigator (see running Lincoln Navigator sales), represented by the regular-length Navigator and extended-length Navigator L, which posted a 30 percent growth rate, moving 4,058 units. Up next was the Jeep Grand Wagoneer family, comprised of the regular-length Grand Wagoneer and extended-length Grand Wagoneer L; the duo posted the only sales drop here as sales fell 50 percent to 1,849 units to place fourth. Finally, Lexus LX sales were flat for 1,704 deliveries.

The QX80 and Navigator family both earned a 17 percent share, up five and one percentage point, respectively. The Grand Wagoneer held an eight percent share, down 10 percentage points, and the LX saw a seven percent share, down one percentage point.
The full-size luxury SUV segment expanded 22 percent to 24,358 units in Q1 2025, meaning that Escalade sales significantly outperformed the segment average.
Below, we’ve included sales figures for full-size luxury crossovers for reference. Though they differ mechanically from the aforementioned body-on-frame SUVs by utilizing a unibody construction, they are typically cross-shopped and considered alternatives to regular full-size luxury SUVs. Currently, the only full-size luxury crossovers are the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class. The rumored Audi Q9 is incoming at some point to slot into this space as another rival. Nevertheless, the Escalade family outpaced these crossovers as well, though they do outsell all other full-size SUV entries here.

The GM Authority Take
Cadillac Escalade sales during the first quarter of 2025 kept it firmly in lead within its segment, accounting for over half of all body-on-frame full-size luxury SUVs in the U.S. and outselling all of its direct rivals on a combined basis, much like it did during the preceding quarter.
We attribute the ongoing impressive performance to the refreshed 2025 Escalade, which made Cadillac’s flagship SUV substantially more competitive and attractive to buyers.
That said, the Escalade will be up against the all-new 2025 Lincoln Navigator, which started arriving at dealers in April; its sales will be reflected in Q2 2025 results. On the other hand, large unibody crossovers like the X7 and GLS-Class, which are often cross-shopped with the Escalade, actually pose an even bigger threat than body-on-frame rivals.
About Cadillac Escalade
The refreshed 2025 Cadillac Escalade features a notable wealth of updates and changes for the SUV, including revised exterior styling, a new cabin dominated by a massive 55-inch pillar-to-pillar display, over 100 new ambient lighting color options, and a reworked powertrain lineup.
Further highlights of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade include a new power open-and-close door feature, 5G connectivity, an AKG Studio audio system, standard Super Cruise, and a new Executive Second-Row Seating Package. The refreshed full-size luxury SUV also benefits from suspension improvements.
The 2025 Escalade drops three paint colors, and the Escalade-V drops two, with three new ones arriving, while gaining new carbon fiber interior trim and a key change to the steering wheel. Here are all the paint colors, the interior colorways, and available wheels.
Powertrain options include the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine as standard, while the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine is standard for the Escalade-V. The 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine option is no longer offered, as GM Authority was the first to report, and here’s why. The 2025 Escalade can tow up to 7,200 pounds.
To meet the anticipated demand for the refreshed model, GM will increase production of the 2025 Escalade Sport Platinum and the 2025 Escalade-V.

In about a dozen years or so, these cars will be doing Door Dash out of a Culver’s with an engine mis-fire at high idle while parked and a burned out catalytic converter spewing fumes.
At least they have physical door handles unlike JLRs whose doors are physically difficult to use…
I meant the doors in the RRs are retractable…and that is the first start to many problems….
What a precipitous decline for the Grand Wagoneer. Shocking almost. A few years ago I really thought Jeep had a chance at challenging GMs dominance in the full size space. Oh well.
That’s what happens when you drop the V8 for a V6 nobody wants and then make an EV version to further compound your misery.
Speaking of things nobody wants; could you imagine how many Hummers they’d be selling right now if it had the Escalade’s ICE drivetrain?
About half as many than they could sell if the Hummer had the Escalade V powertrain.
Hummer is better off being an EV brand only because they are heavy. The H2 had horrible fuel economy and sales had tanked during the recession which caused the brand to be discontinued for over a decade due to being very heavy compared to the second generation Escalade back then.
Also, if the current Hummer had the supercharged 6.2 engine like that in the Escalade-V, it would be slower from zero to 60 with way worse fuel economy than the Escalade-V due to its weight. No need to repeat history.
Ford better get their act together for Lincoln and stop all that wellness nonsense. Time for a Navigator Cobra v-8 please. Lincoln is getting shut out by a super Nissan. OMG
It will be interesting to see the sales volume between the two in the coming months. I rather choose the Infiniti over the Lincoln because the air suspension which the Lincoln lack.
Hey Denny, Ford should go all out and produce a limited run of Navigators with the concepts gull wing doors. That would be so class act.
If GM were smart they would add these full size SUVs at a second plant.
To add money on the hood with incentives and savings from the dealers? Not a smart move if demand falls.
Since the Escalade is expensive as is as a luxury vehicle, no need to increase volume. True luxury is not about volume but is about desirability which the Escalade is.
Was talking about the Ykons, Suburbans, and Tahoe’s as well
MURICA first! Give one of these to OUR LEADER so he can go boff his Jumbo.
Super interesting on the next quarter with these engines that are needing replacing on The recall 42021 through 2024. All g m’s not just the Cadillac.
They’re going to have to practically give these suckers away! At this very moment, you can’t even buy one! They aren’t allowed to sell them!
It’s great for Cadillac that they can sell these rebadged Suburbans as Escalades. But really sad that that is the case.
Given the engine problems I suspect people should have moved to the Navigator…
Or is it that Navigator hasn’t started production?
Anyhow we need to see final sales…at the end of the year.
