Cadillac CTS Driver Hauling Rebar Leaves A Path Of Destruction: Video

A Cadillac CTS driver in Fort Worth, Texas, is seen in a new viral video demonstrating one of the worst ways to transport rods of rebar, leading to some smashed sideview mirrors in the process.

The video was captured by another motorist following close behind the Caddy as the sedan traveled down the road, and clocks in at just 40 seconds.

As the video gets under way, we see the Cadillac CTS sedan traveling down a multi-lane road with several long pieces of rebar protruding from the rear-seat driver’s side window. The metal bars extend out from the sedan by several feet, crossing into the opposing lane and creating a major obstruction for oncoming traffic.

As the Cadillac proceeds into a construction zone, the road narrows, making the hazard even more pronounced. Drivers in the opposing lane are seen veering right to avoid the metal rods. Despite their efforts, the rebar ends up striking the side mirror on a Ford F-150, ripping it off and sending it tumbling into the air. Just moments later, the metal bars clip a Chevy Tahoe, destroying the Chevy’s side mirror as well.

The Cadillac CTS briefly drifts right, perhaps an indication that the driver has finally became aware of the danger that the rebar presents, before they make a quick right turn at the next light, quickly leaving the scene.

It’s unclear if the Cadillac CTS driver faced any consequences for knocking the sideview mirrors off the Ford and Chevy, or if any more damage was caused by their recklessness.

Indeed, while the Cadillac CTS is a great choice for comfortable cruising with a few passengers, it’s not exactly ideal for moving around oversized cargo. Placing the rebar out the window was obviously the wrong move, and frankly, the driver is lucky the rebar didn’t end up puncturing another vehicle or even skewering another driver.

  2. This one’s been all over the internet. Car fans have been asking if the CTS had a folding rear seat and the answer is it was optional. This one likely didn’t.

  4. Fortunately didn’t find a motorcyclist not paying enough attention in the oncoming traffic. If I been behind that I’d have probably followed and called the police. Unfortunately, I’m not too surprised.
