Buick Encore GX Prices Haven’t Increased Much Since 2020

Vehicle prices have seen a considerable jump in the last five years, even for some entry-level models. Indeed, many folks are finding it more and more difficult to find a new vehicle that fits their budget. Nevertheless, pricing for the Buick Encore GX has seen only a modest increase since 2020.

Comparing base prices, the 2026 Buick Encore GX Preferred trim is priced at $27,295, an 8.8-percent increase over its 2020 starting price of $25,095. The mid-range Select trim, which was replaced by the ST trim starting with the 2024 model year, rose from $26,695 in 2020 to $28,495 in 2026, marking a 6.7-percent increase. Meanwhile, the top-tier Essence trim, replaced by Avenir for the 2024 model year, climbed from $29,495 in 2020 to $32,795 for 2026, representing an 11.2-percent increase.

The destination freight charge for the Buick Encore GX has also seen only modest adjustments over the years, maintaining a rate of $1,195 from 2020 through most of 2023, then increasing slightly to $1,295, and, most recently, to $1,395 in April 2025.

2024 Buick Encore GX

The Buick Encore GX is part of GM’s “Korean Four” lineup, alongside the Buick Envista, Chevy Trailblazer, and Chevy Trax. The Encore GX, Envista, and Trailblazer are produced at GM’s Bupyeong plant in Incheon, South Korea, while the Trax is built at the GM Changwon plant. All four of these vehicles have played a crucial role in GM’s U.S. product strategy, offered as affordable, entry-level crossovers. However, new tariffs introduced by the Trump administration, specifically a 25-percent tax on all vehicles built outside the United States, could dramatically impact the affordability and competitiveness of these Korean-built models going forward.
