The Omega Edition was a unique and limited option package for the 2024 GMC Hummer EV. Only 1,108 such examples were built for the SUV variant of the supersized EV riding on the BT1 platform, but its limited availability doesn’t seem to have done much for its value. This one just sold on Bring a Trailer with a sale price of $95,500, and it carried an original sticker price of $140,295. It had 404 miles on it at the time of the sale and was auctioned by Durand GMC in Leominster, MA.
To recap, the $23,355 Omega Edition (RPO code WFP) of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV adds the following to the tri-motor 3X trim:
- Neptune Blue Matte exterior color (paint code GLG)
- Infinity Roof with transparent Sky Panels (RPO code CC3)
- Black Emblems (RPO code RIK)
- Spare Tire Cover in Neptune Blue Matte (RPO code SAW)
- Thatcham Wheel Locks (RPO code SFE)
- 18-inch Gloss Black Beadlock Wheels with Carbon Flash Decorative Ring (RPO code SYW)
- Spare 18-inch Gloss Black Beadlock Wheel with Carbon Flash Decorative Ring (RPO code SYX)
- Wheel Center Cap in Black with HUMMER EV Logo (RPO code 5ZF)
- Premium Carpet Floor Inserts (RPO code VYW)
On top of that, getting the Omega Edition requires upgrading to the Extreme Off-Road Package (RPO code Z6X), which adds another $9,995 to the price tag.
Most of these features are available piecemeal on any GMC Hummer EV SUV 3X. The details that are exclusive to the Omega Edition are the Neptune Blue Matte paint, gloss black wheels with Carbon Flash rings, and unique spare tire cover.
This SUV being dumped by a dealer on Bring a Trailer and selling for about $45k below its sticker price shows that the GMC Hummer EV Omega Edition was a miss from GM. We think many off-road enthusiasts would agree that it looks cool, but it just wasn’t unique enough to justify its lofty price tag over the already pricey Hummer EV SUV in the 3X trim.
We reported in January that the Omega Edition units of the Hummer EV Pickup and SUV weren’t selling very quickly. We noted that relatively high percentages of dealer inventories were Omega Edition models and that dealers were offering deep discounts to move them.
The GMC Hummer EV is a cool electric truck with stunning performance and unignorable aesthetics, but some of its novelty has worn off now that it’s coming up on its fifth model year. This makes it harder to justify expensive special edition models that just don’t add all that much.

Smells like a repo to me.
Not worth even $50k
I’d take a 20 year old 6.0L hummer before this overweight pig
And this would blow the doors off you lol
Oh for sure. Heck I’d even put down several grand and do a Predator Inc. upgrade with the newer 6.6L LMM Duramax and the Allison upgrade with the 2WD option transfer case to make it more daily driver friendly. And it would still be worth $200k in value.
I’d rather get a Cybertruck.
thanks for the input, tangledcontrarian
in fact, we all look forward to your great and meaningful insight on almost every ev article.
so, thank you again.
How do most other EV’s hold their resale value compared to ICE?
Poorly
The Omega package seems to be mostly cosmetic.
Market doesn’t want ev hummer. GM refuses to get what the people want . Actual trail blazer to compete with Bronco etc , compact truck to compete with Maverick . A sedan they just killed the Malibu . GM besides the canyon and Sierra really doesn’t get American market . I understand they want compete with China EVs .. that’s terrible endeavor
Expensive options generally increase depreciation rates. Bentleys, Aston-Martins and some AMGs are notorious for massive loss of value over 5 years.
This article is a little misleading this car is actually selling well. This particular addition was poor selling because it was more expensive and had terrible paint matte and weird color. GM knew it was a bad choice so no longer offering this combo. The rest of them other paint combinations are selling good. I am personally not a fan of matte paints that look dull. I can just wait 20 years and my car will look like that.
The Omega Edition seems to be a halo on top of a halo, which explains the low production numbers. It wasn’t designed to sell in large quantities. The unique Hummer EV is really cool, but I wonder how much the fragile matte paint is a detriment. I wouldn’t want to deal with the paint after taking it offroading—especially if there were any brush scratches.
