2026 Corvette Gets New Wireless Charging Pad, But Keeps Old One: Video

General Motors recently unveiled the refreshed 2026 Corvette, showing off several major interior updates. Among the highlights are numerous technology upgrades and other convenience features, including the addition of a new wireless charging pad positioned at the base of the center stack. The new pad provides easy access to ensure that the user’s mobile device is topped off. However, despite the introduction of the new charging pad, the old wireless charging pad located at the rear of the cabin between the two seats was carried over from the preceding model year, allowing both the driver and passenger to charge their devices simultaneously.

Notably, the new cabin layout also includes a USB-C port integrated into the center console grab handle, providing yet another charging option for the front passenger.

Beyond the multiple device charging options, the 2026 Corvette also boasts a dramatic infotainment upgrade thanks a new three-screen layout. The new layout pairs a 12.7-inch center display with a 14-inch digital driver information center and auxiliary 6.6-inch touchscreen positioned to the left of the steering wheel. This multi-screen configuration delivers an immersive, high-tech experience and further emphasizes the C8 Corvette’s driver-centric focus.

The 2026 Corvette center console has also been reworked for improved ergonomics, with the HVAC controls now repositioned beneath the center display, while customers now have access to an asymmetrical interior color scheme that matches Jet Black with Adrenaline Red, a first for the model.

Beyond the interior updates, the 2026 Corvette now offers a few fresh exterior styling options, including an asymmetrical exterior stripe and two new paint finishes (Roswell Green Metallic and Blade Silver Metallic).

All model variants in the 2026 Corvette lineup (Stingray, E-Ray, Z06, and ZR1) ride on the GM Y2 platform. Production is set to kick off on August 4th, 2025, at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

  2. As a C8 owner, I always wanted to meet the geniuses who designed and engineered placement of the mobile charging dock between the seats and simply ask: “What were you thinking”!

There is simply no convenient way to dock or retrieve a mobile device from this position, unless your flexibility is on par with a contortionist. At 6’1″ with a 36″ reach, I find the only way is to reach with my left arm over my chest, reaching down to retrieve. So, I only use the charging dock on trips of over an hour! Thank goodness the 2026 cabin refresh solves this problem!
