GM unveiled the third-generation Chevy Traverse for the 2024 model year, with the subsequent 2025 model year introducing several important updates. By contrast, the upcoming 2026 Chevy Traverse is expected to debut with only a few small changes compared to the preceding 2025 Chevy Traverse. A couple of those changes concern its color palette.
The 2026 Chevy Traverse will ditch two paint options and replace them with similar ones. Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (color code G1W) will be replaced by the similar Polar White Tricoat (G4J), and Harvest Bronze Metallic (GXN) will be replaced by Sandstone Gray (GFR). As we’ve reported previously, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat is already built out for the 2025 model year and is no longer available to order.
This is one of many Chevy models swapping out Iridescent Pearl Tricoat for Polar White Tricoat as its premium white paint option. The two are almost indistinguishable from each other. Other models making the same swap include the Chevy Equinox and Chevy Silverado EV. Some Cadillac, GMC and Buick models are making the same change but with their own branded color names.
Harvest Bronze Metallic is a dark bronze color first introduced with the Traverse’s 2024 redesign. Its natural hue was a good match to the outdoorsy Z71 trim. Sandstone Gray will be a lighter beige color. The same color code has been used on other GM models, including the ICE-powered Chevy Blazer, called Pewter Metallic.
Production of the 2026 Chevy Traverse will begin on July 14th, 2025, and will again take place at the Lansing Delta Township Assembly Plant in Michigan, as was the case previously. Dealers will be able to submit orders for the 2026 Chevy Traverse starting June 12th, 2025. To note, both of these dates are tentative and may very well change some time in the future.
Official pricing details for the 2026 model have yet to be revealed, but are likely to remain close to pricing details for the 2025 Chevy Traverse. For reference, the 2025 Traverse starts at $42,195 for the LT FWD trim, with pricing increasing to $44,195 for the AWD LT configuration. The off-road-oriented Z71 trim begins at $49,295, while the luxurious High Country starts at $55,295 for FWD and $57,295 for AWD. Meanwhile, the sporty RS trim begins at $55,595 for FWD and $57,595 for AWD. Notably, GM eliminated the entry-level LS and fleet-focused 1FL trims from the 2025 Traverse lineup, which aligns with GM’s broader strategy to streamline its various offerings.

We’re replacing a basic color with a basic color. Yay!
Boring and really boring.
