2026 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Gets More Standard Features

The 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 debuts the final year for the fourth-generation light-duty pickup, with the upcoming 2027 Silverado set to debut an all-new fifth generation. However, before it goes, the 2026 Silverado will usher in a few modest updates. Most of these changes are cosmetic, such as the introduction of two new exterior paint colors. However, the 2026 Chevy Silverado ZR2 will debut a more substantial upgrade with the addition of several new standard features.

The 2026 Chevy Silverado ZR2 will include several new standard features.

Looking ahead, the 2026 Chevy Silverado ZR2 will include the content of Technology Package and the Multi-Flex Tailgate as standard equipment. The Technology Package and Multi-Flex Tailgate are currently offered as optional for the 2025 model year.

The Technology Package (RPO code CWM) is currently priced at $2,040 for the 2025 Chevy Silverado ZR2. This package includes the following (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • Rear Camera Mirror (DRZ)
  • 15-inch Diagonal Head-Up Display (UV6)
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (KSG)
  • Power tilt and telescoping steering column (N38)

Meanwhile, the Multi-Flex Tailgate (RPO code QK2) is currently priced at $445 for the 2025 Silverado ZR2. As a reminder, the Multi-Flex tailgate offers six unique configurations, providing enhanced utility for various cargo needs. To note, the Multi-Flex Tailgate was also included as standard for the 2025 Chevy Silverado ZR2 when specced with ZR2 Bison Edition (RPO code ULV) package.

In addition to these new standard features, the 2026 Chevy Silverado lineup also introduces two fresh paint options, specifically Polar White Tricoat (paint code G4J) and White Sands (paint code G42), replacing Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (paint code G1W) and Slate Gray Metallic (paint code GNO). Both of the discontinued colors have already been built out for the remainder of the 2025 model year.

Production of the 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 is scheduled to begin on June 28th, 2025, slightly earlier than the July 7th, 2025 start date planned previously.

The Silverado 1500 will gain far more substantial updates with the launch of the next-generation 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500, which is expected to debut the new sixth-generation Small Block V8 engine, an optional plug-in hybrid powertrain, and the updated GM T1-2 platform.
