2026 Chevy Silverado EV To Offer Digital Key

The 2026 Chevy Silverado EV is in its third model year since its introduction. The 2026 model drops the sporty RST trim, adds the off-road-ready Trail Boss model, and offers a few new paint options. Additionally, GM Authority has learned that it will offer the Chevrolet Digital Key (RPO BOY) as an option.

The Chevrolet Digital Key allows owners to use their smartphones for vehicle entry and power operation. It’s slated to be standard on all LT and Trail Boss models; it will be unavailable on Work Truk (WT) variants. This feature won’t be available at production start for the 2026 model year. We’re expecting an eventual over-the-air update to activate the convenient tech feature.

The 2026 Chevy Silverado EV gets something like a Y-shaped trim structure. The WT trim is the entry-level model, and the well-equipped LT model and rugged Trail Boss trim are similarly priced when equipped with the same battery pack. However, the LT has a lower base price than the Trail Boss since you can’t get the Standard Range battery pack with the Trail Boss trim.

Another notable introduction to the Chevy Silverado EV lineup this model year is the launch of the new Silverado EV 3WT Standard + Range. This model features a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, believed to be a lower-cost alternative to the nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminum (NCMA) chemistry used elsewhere in the lineup. Pricing for the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV (including destination charges) starts at $54,895 for the WT trim with the Standard Range battery, $62,995 for the LT trim with the Standard Range battery, and $72,095 for the Trail Boss trim with the Extended Range battery. Drivers who want the best range will have to pay at least $76,295 for a truck equipped with the Max Range battery pack.

Production of the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV will once again take place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Detroit, Michigan, while the GM BT1 platform will once again serve as the vehicle underpinnings.

  4. Actually not correct. The Cyber duck could not even sell any units last quarter when the GM sold far more. Your math is way off. Tesla sales were so bad that there is rumors that they will go bankrupt. This GM product is far better than Tesla range quality etc
