The Chevy Silverado EV made its official debut for the 2024 model year, introducing the very first all-electric iteration of Chevy’s best-selling pickup truck. For 2025, Chevrolet refined the formula with a new trim level as well as additional packages and aesthetic options. Now, GM Authority has learned that production of the upcoming 2026 Chevy Silverado EV has been slightly delayed.
We originally reported that the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV was scheduled for May 19th, 2025. But, according to sources familiar with the matter, that date has been pushed back to May 27th, 2025. Dealers will be able to submit orders as early as April 10th, 2025. This change is a reminder that these dates are tentative and subject to change, as is often the case with future production timelines.
The 2026 Chevy Silverado EV gets something like a Y-shaped trim structure. The WT is the entry-level trim, and the well-equipped LT and rugged Trail Boss are similarly priced when equipped with the same battery pack. However, the LT has a lower base price than the Silverado EV Trail Boss since you can’t get the Standard Range battery pack with the Trail Boss trim. The RST trim is on hiatus for 2026, and it’s unclear whether we’ll see it again.
Another notable introduction to the Chevy Silverado EV lineup this model year is the launch of the new Silverado EV 3WT Standard + Range. This model features a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, believed to be a lower-cost alternative to the nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminum (NCMA) chemistry used elsewhere in the lineup. Make sure to check out our previous coverage for more information.
Pricing for the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV (including destination charges) starts at $54,895 for the WT trim with the Standard Range battery, $62,995 for the LT trim with the Standard Range battery, and $72,095 for the Trail Boss trim with the Extended Range battery. Drivers who want the best range will have to pay at least $76,295 for a truck equipped with the Max Range battery pack.
Production of the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV will once again take place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Detroit, Michigan, while the GM BT1 platform will once again serve as the vehicle underpinnings.
