2026 Chevy Silverado EV Gets Increased Maximum Driving Range

Chevrolet is pushing forward with its electric pickup strategy, launching the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV lineup with the debut of the new Trail Boss off-roader trim. In addition, the 2026 Silverado EV will offer several other key updates, including a small bump in maximum driving range.

Compared to the 2025 model year, the new Silverado EV 8WT extends its top estimated range by one mile, rising from 492 miles in the 2025 Max Range configuration to 493 miles with the 2026 update.

The 2026 Chevy Silverado EV offers a small increase to maximum range.

The Max Range battery appears in several trims for the 2026 model year, including the Work Truck 8WT, LT 4LT, and Trail Boss 3TR, with range-per-charge specs set at 493 miles in the 8WT and 478 miles for the LT 4LT and Trail Boss 3TR.

Meanwhile, 4WT and 5WT models are rated at 286 miles and 424 miles, respectively, while 2LT and 3LT models are rated at 283 miles and 410 miles, respectively. Go for the Trail Boss 2TR, and you’ll get 410 miles of range per charge. The 2026 Chevy Silverado EV also features DC fast charging up to 350 kW. All variants are equipped with a dual-motor powertrain delivering four-wheel-drive grip.

Compared to the 2025 model year, the 2026 Silverado EV 5WT and LT Extended Range both get a two-mile range bump.

Beyond the minor range improvements and new Trail Boss variant, the 2026 model year is also expected to offer the new fleet-exclusive 3WT Standard + Range configuration, which will cradle a new lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. The new LFP chemistry is expected to deliver significant cost benefits over the existing nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminum (NMCA) packs. That said, official specs for LFP-equipped trims have yet be announced.

Production of the 2026 Silverado EV is scheduled to begin at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan later this month. All 2026 Silverado EV variants ride on the GM BT1 platform.

  1. Bring back the RST with max range and price it at $65k, along with a GM installed charging system in my garage. I’d truly consider driving one home.
That Trailboss is ugly and covered in plastic Tupperware

    1. Problem with pricing it at 65K is they’ll loose 30K per unit vs earning 13K per ICE unit. Buisnesses are in the buisness of making money after all

    2. The Trail Boss has proper wheels for a truck, not the gangsta wannabe low profile crap. Guess you don’t actually need a truck.

        1. My job takes me off road. Some of us actually use our trucks rather than cosplay as cowboys. Have fun taking your pavement princess to Starbucks.
