The 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 debuts only minor updates compared to the preceding 2025 model year, marking the final chapter for the current fourth-generation light-duty pickup. Among the most notable changes are a few new paint color options. Now, we’re taking a closer at the two new paint colors offered for the 2026 Chevy Silverado.
The two new paint colors set to join the 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 options list include Polar White Tricoat (paint code G4J) and White Sands (paint code G42). Photos of the 2026 Silverado in the two new paint colors are currently unavailable.
The two new hues replace two outgoing paint options, namely Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (paint code G1W) and Slate Gray Metallic (paint code GNO). Both outgoing colors have already been built out for the remainder of the 2025 model year. Iridescent Pearl Tricoat has been a familiar choice for Silverado customers for several years now, holding a spot on the options list even before the launch of the current-generation Silverado 1500 for the 2019 model year. Meanwhile, Slate Gray Metallic made its debut for the 2024 model year.
Beyond the new paint options, the 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 is primarily a carryover model, with most features mirroring those from the 2025 model year. However, that will all change with the launch of the next-generation 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500, which will feature a huge number of updates, including a new sixth-generation GM Small Block V8 gasoline engine. This new powerplant is expected to deliver enhanced performance and a 10-percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to the current Small Block V8.
In addition, the 2027 Silverado is expected to introduce a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain option, aligning with GM’s strategy to reintroduce PHEV options to its North American lineup. The 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine and TurboMax turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine are expected to carry over largely unchanged from the 2026 model year.
The upcoming 2027 Silverado will also ride on the updated T1-2 platform, an evolution of the current T1 architecture, and will feature a thoroughly redesigned cabin with the latest in GM infotainment technology.

Slate Gray may be one of the worse colors ever offered on any car or truck. It basically looked like clear coated gray primer. Unfortunately white sands doesn’t look like much of an upgrade. Does anyone else have the feeling that GM is offering crappy color choices on ICE trucks in hopes that buyers will consider the slow moving EV trucks, that actually offer colors other than black, white and gray.
Its one of the most popular colors. I have a dozen customers that are pissed its gone.
Agree.
I once had a private tour of the Tech Center (back in the early 1990s) and they had departments dealing with colors of interiors, exteriors, fabrics, material, etc. Every color of the rainbow. GM’s exterior color choices are dismal. Mist of these color stories in GMA are a white replacing a white or a gray replacing a gray. Maybe you get a couple of reds or an interesting blue, but most of the time the good colors (if there actually are any bold colors) are only offered on upper trims. Remember the 90s? Turquoise, yellows, hunter greens, aquas, and so many cool patterns on fabrics and seat designs on even the economy cars. Today’s GM interiors are so often black or, if you go to a top trim, light gray or tan. Yay. The Enclave Avenir finally introduces a blue dash again. You used to get different color dash choices even on base Olds Cieras. Buyers want choices…at least I think they do.
Tried looking for a RCSB 2wd on Chevrolet website. Had a 2000 mile range. Not one. If you try to order one will it get built in a couple months?
so….. your looking for a work truck?
Pass
Like the world needs more white cars /smh
Most of the manufactures paint color palettes are dismal, at best. Look at any auto manufacturers and almost all the colors are white, black, and some version of the infinite number of combinations of black & white making some boring version of this gray or that gray. They might have one red and some hue of steel blue. No greens, no yellows, no browns, no nothing. Maybe they think we are all color blind. What ever happened to Roy G Biv colors?
And the manufacturers push this monotone color scheme by making white and sometimes black “free” while all of the desirable colors , if any, have additional costs involved.
I’m convinced the color selection committees at GM and the color palette decision makers have lost it. Their color selections are not getting any better. You would think that with Silver in the trucks name a true sharp bright leading industry Silver color option would be available. Not even close. Found it interesting Ford and RAM continues to offer brighter Silver colors as a color option.
How. About they focus on BETTER paint rather than awful new colors?
Our ’12 Toyota looks mint and my dad’s ’20 Silverado is flaking off all over the place
The lower right corner of the “Silverado” photo first made me think of a rust hole.
Fix the transmission issues and the back order on parts before worrying about new paint colors.
Forget the colors, GM needs to fix their crappy transmission problem…
