The Cadillac CT5, one of the last ICE-based GM sedans available in the U.S., will soldier on into the 2026 model year. Notably, production of the 2026 Cadillac CT5 will kick off a bit sooner than originally planned.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2026 Cadillac CT5 will now begin on May 29th, 2025, a few days sooner than the original SORP date of June 2nd. Dealer orders for the 2026 Cadillac CT5 opened on the first of the month.
For those who may have missed it, the Cadillac CT5 was refreshed for the 2025 model year, debuting a long list of important updates. Among these was a redesigned front fascia with updated lighting signatures, as well as a significantly enhanced interior packed with fresh tech. These changes are expected to carry over into 2026 largely unchanged, although minor updates such as new exterior paint options may be introduced as well.
Looking more closely, we find that the 2025-model-year refresh also introduced a new 33-inch curved digital display, mating the instrument cluster and infotainment functions into a single expansive screen. Other highlights include a premium AKG audio system, plus Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free semi-autonomous driving assist feature.
Mechanically, the 2026 Cadillac CT5 will offer the same powertrain options as the 2025 model year. Non-V-Series models will continue to cradle the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasolineengine, generating 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the optional twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY gasoline engine generates a more robust 335 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Both powertrains are backed by the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
Like its smaller sibling, the CT4, the Cadillac CT5 rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform and is assembled at the GM Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan. The Cadillac CT5 is one of the last remaining ICE-based four-door sedans that GM still offers in the U.S.
