2026 Cadillac CT4 Production Start Moved Forward To This Date

Despite General Motors’ ongoing shift towards electrification and the recent cancellation the ninth-generation Chevy Malibu, the Cadillac CT4 will continue to offer customers a shot at owning a modern, ICE-based GM four-door into the 2026 model year. Now, GM Authority sources have confirmed that the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2026 CT4 has been moved forward to May 29th, 2025, as compared to the previously scheduled SORP of June 2nd. Dealer orders for the 2026 Cadillac CT4 opened earlier this month.

The 2026 Cadillac CT4 offers minimal changes compared to the 2025 model year.

The 2026 Cadillac CT4 will be one of the last ICE-powered GM sedans available in the U.S. Unlike the Cadillac CT5, which was refreshed for the 2025 model year, the 2026 CT4 will introduce only small updates, such as a minor seating and feature availability changes for the CT4-V.

Cadillac CT4 sales have been somewhat lackluster as of late, with GM becoming increasingly more focused on SUVs, pickups, and EVs. GM sold only 1,214 CT4 units during the first quarter of the 2025 calendar year, and a total of 6,208 units sold over the course of the entire 2024 calendar year.

Engine choices for the 2026 CT4 remain unchanged. Non-V trims are available with either the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm, or the more potent turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B, rated at 310 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 350 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. Opt for the CT4-V, which also cradles the 2.7L I4 L3B, and output jumps to 325 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 380 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. Finally, the range-topping CT4-V Blackwing is powered by the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4, which is rated at 472 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and 445 pound-feet of torque at 3,500 rpm.

Under the skin, the 2026 Cadillac CT4 will continue to ride on the GM Alpha 2 platform, while vehicle production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant, located in Michigan.

  1. How does this model make any money with such low sales yet Camaro didn’t at about four times the volume even in a bad year. Maybe gm just wanted to kill another neglected ICE vehicle in the Camaro and lay those who were building them.

    1. You don’t understand business. Luxury vehicles get you more profit per unit sold.

  3. Hopefully this has a little AC vent for my private areas. I miss my T-1000. It had that vent.

  4. How about a grille and tail light change, at least do some thing to keep it looking fresh, no wonder sales drop.

  5. The only negative I have found in my 23 CT4 BW is that the front lower winglets are not bolted on, but are actually molded in to the bumper. When a parking block a bit too tall, or a hunk of road debris is encountered they get wrinkled. The front end is very low, but BW is a fantastic auto and great value. I’m glad I got one.
