2025 GMC Yukon Denali Specs Revealed In Australia And NZ

The automaker has revealed full specifications for the 2025 GMC Yukon Denali for the Australian and New Zealand markets, confirming the GMC full-size SUV’s homologated pulling power in those countries. Notably, the Yukon Denali’s official braked towing capacity has been set at 3,628 kg or 8,000 pounds, the same rating as with the North American model equipped with 4WD.

“We know how important towing is to our customers, so we’re thrilled to confirm the GMC Yukon’s braked towing capacity is the very best in its class,” said GM Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Jess Bala. “We have always considered the GMC Yukon a flagship vehicle unrivalled in the region, and the braked towing capacity only furthers that status. Not just luxurious, spacious and a capable three-row SUV, it can also tow an unmatched 3,628 kg,” she added.

Notably, the 2025 GMC Yukon Denali’s official rating puts it in a class of its own, boasting the highest towing capacity of any SUV sold in Australia and New Zealand. This also includes the unbraked towing capacity, which for the 2025 Yukon Denali is 750 kg or 1,653 pounds, as well as the approved gross vehicle mass (GVM) of 3,447 kg or 7,600 lbs.

Additionally, regulatory bodies in both countries validated the output of the 2025 GMC Yukon Denali’s 6.2L V8 L87 engine, which also makes it stand out as the most powerful SUV in its class with 313 kW or 420 horsepower and 624 Nm or 460 pound-feet of torque, exactly the same as the configuration for North America. The engine is coupled to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the 4WD system.

The 2025 GMC Yukon Denali is now available for reservation at GMSV’s official dealer network in both Australia and New Zealand, where sales are scheduled to begin in May. Production of units sold in these countries has already begun in RHD configuration at the GMSV Dandenong plant in Victoria, Australia, which is responsible for supplying the region as the first GM full-size SUV officially sold there.

The Yukon Denali recently received a price increase in Australia to AU$174,990, or about $111,700 USD at the current exchange rate.
