A safety recall issued by General Motors affects some 2025 Chevy Express and 2025 GMC Savana vans. The recall concerns a problem with the front passenger seat head restraint, which may not have been properly welded to the seat frame. The GM recall number is N252503580.
The problem: GM notes that affected vehicles may not have had the head restraint properly welded to the seat frame in the front passenger seat.
The hazards: A head restraint not properly secured to the seat frame can result in the head restraint not working properly in the event of an accident, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix: GM service departments will inspect recalled vans and, if necessary, replace the front passenger seat frame entirely. Vehicles that pass inspection need no further action.
Affected components: Passenger seat back frame.
Affected vehicles:
Number of affected vehicles: NHTSA documentation shows that 25 Express units and 7 Savana units are potentially involved in the recall in the U.S. for a total of 32 vehicles. Additionally, nine Canadian units are affected in a similar recall issued through Transport Canada.
Owners should: owners of affected Express and Savana vans will be notified by GM. Additionally, The General has placed a stop sale on affected vans currently in dealership inventory, meaning they cannot be sold, delivered, used in demonstrations, or traded to other dealerships until the correct intake components are installed.

Is it me or GM is plagued with with a huge amount for just about every vehicle model it sells since a year or more? When it’s not the diesel engines it’s the 6.2 gas engine, when it’s not the Silverado/GMC full size and mid size it’s the full size van, the Cadillacs, the Buicks…. What’s going on at the General? Is it the same with Ford and Ram, Dodge, Jeep? At the price the vehicles are sold, one can expect top quality, not recalls one after the other for all vehicles… This is really scarry…
I have an 05 express van with 202.650 miles on it runs and drives like new,I also own a 2016 Cruze with 89.000 miles on it I only had 2 issues with it torque converter and a thermostat sensor, but I do feel that if gm,Ford,an Dodge want to compete with Japanese cars reliability must be top priority although the express vans have always been reliable mine has the 5.3 engine at 202.650 miles doesn’t burn a drop of oil I don’t think 25 vans with a seat back issue is a big deal
GM The Only Car Company Where Failure Is Not An Option.
It Simply Comes Standard.
Has anyone ever suspected DEI may have something to do with the multitude of recalls at GM?
How do you really “inspect” these? If they’re not flopping around from the factory then call it good??
For a whopping 32 vehicles GM should replace all of the questionable seats.
Let’s be realistic. If you think GM is such a terrible company, just go buy a ford dodge or Mercedes. I’m tired of all this negativity for no reason. Jeez!
