The flashy chrome Corvette Z06 GT3.R was set to make its 2025 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) debut last weekend in Barcelona, but instead of the expected silvered livery, a yellow Corvette race car hit the track. Unfortunately, the affectionately named “Chromevette” was destroyed before the race, prompting TF Sport to ship a different chassis in as a last-minute replacement.
The Chromevette – also known as chassis 012 – was demolished in a crash during testing at Spa before it ever turned a lap in Barcelona. That left TF Sport without the silvery No. 82 Corvette Z06 GT3.R for the inaugural 2025 ELMS race.
Fortunately, TF Sport has a pool of Vette race cars to pull from and quickly called in chassis 007 to sub for the destroyed Vette. Nicknamed “James Bond,” chassis 007 represents TF Sport in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). However, instead of the silver livery, chassis 007 sports the team’s customary yellow paint scheme, complete with a prominent U.S. flat motif on the hood and roof. There wasn’t any time to wrap 007 in the Chromevette colors, so TF Sport turned it loose with the bright yellow colors.
Rui Andrade, Charlie Eastwood, and Hiroshi Koizumi shared that bright-yellow Corvette Z06 GT3.R during the 4 Hours of Barcelona. The trio finished 30th overall in the 2025 ELMS opener on April 6th, completing 121 laps during the event.
Chassis 007 will be replaced by a new Corvette Z06 GT3.R race car, which is tagged as chassis 023. This race car will make its debut at Le Castellet next month. While chassis 012 – the original Chromevette – is gone for good, chassis 023 will be wrapped with the unique chromed-out livery in time for the race on May 3rd, 2025.
Beyond the No. 82 Vette in ELMS, TF Sport hosts two entries in the FIA WEC, including the No. 81 Corvette of Eastwood, Tom Van Rompuy, and Andrade; it also fields the No. 33 Vette of Ben Keating, Daniel Juncadella, and Johnny Edgar. It also fielded the No. 97 Corvette of Shane Van Gisbergen, Connor Zilisch, Scott McLaughlin, and Ben Keating as a one-off entry into the 2025 Rolex 24.
