Two Kids Steal Chevy Camaro ZL1, Police Chase Ends At Disneyland: Video

ABC 7 News Los Angeles reports that a police chase through Orange County, California ended in an unlikely place: the Pixar Pals parking structure at Disneyland. The car being chased was none other than a sixth-generation Chevy Camaro ZL1, which appears to be equipped with the track-ready 1LE Track Performance Package.

The Chevy Camaro was reportedly stolen from The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. Police chased the stolen car on the I-5 interstate through Orange County, sometimes exceeding 100 mph. The chase ended in a 6,500-space parking garage in the Happiest Place on Earth, where police surrounded the Camaro.

The suspects took off on foot after parking the car in the Pixar Pals parking garage. This caused a problem for the parkgoers since the police had to shut down the garage to search for the suspects. While it was shut down, patrons who were (legally) parked in the garage couldn’t leave, leaving many of them stuck at the park longer than they intended.

Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Timmins told The Orange County Register that the driver was taken to juvenile hall, and the passenger was released to a guardian.

This reminds us of a story we reported on last spring in which a 2021 Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE was stolen right from the owner’s driveway in the city of Hillsboro, Oregon. Thieves took less than a minute to break into the vehicle and drive away with the high-end performance car. Fortunately for the owner, the quick theft was caught on video.

Whether it’s your own driveway or a parking facility of the Ritz-Carlton, it seems like the Chevy Camaro ZL1 attracts thieves wherever it goes. With the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 under the hood pumping out 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, there are worse cars to steal.
