The 2025 GMC Hummer EV ushers in a series of notable revisions for the all-electric truck and SUV lineups. Now, however, the all-electric off-roader no longer offers one specific exterior color option.
Tide Metallic, an icy-blue hue tagged with paint code G7X, is no longer available to order for the 2025 model year. This applies to both the Hummer EV Pickup and the Hummer EV SUV body styles.
For now, it remains to be seen whether or not the Tide Metallic exterior paint option will return for the Hummer EV’s 2026 model year. It’s also unclear at this time if GM will debut a direct replacement for it. Either way, with Tide Metallic no longer available for the 2025 model year, the 2025 GMC Hummer EV only offers six exterior color options.
The remaining exterior paint options for the 2025 GMC Hummer EV are as follows (relevant paint code included in parentheses):
- Deep Aurora Metallic (GXN)
- Graphite Blue Metallic (GAI)
- Interstellar White (GAZ)
- Meteorite Metallic (GNO)
- Solar Orange (GAG)
- Void Black (GBA)
Notably, GM is actively reducing the number of exterior paint options it offers, a move that’s consistent with the automaker’s new “Winning with Simplicity” strategy. That said, it’s unclear if the recent unavailability of Tide Metallic for the Hummer EV is directly related to the Winning with Simplicity initiative.
Regardless, GM’s paint color reduction effort spans all four of its U.S. brands – Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, and GMC – and affects nearly every model and trim level. According to GM CEO Mary Barra, Winning with Simplicity is aimed at simplifying the ordering and production processes. “For example, we have eliminated over 1,000 selectable options across our current and near-term product programs, which is reducing hardware, software, ordering, and manufacturing complexity, and importantly, all the costs associated with them,” Barra stated during GM’s Q4 2023 earnings presentation.
In addition to exterior paint option revisions, the 2025 Hummer EV also sees the official elimination of the base 2 trim, which never actually reached production, and adjustments to several other optional equipment packages, as GM Authority covered previously.
