The fate of the compact 2025 Cadillac XT5 crossover remains uncertain, though production of it – unlike the larger XT6 – is likely to continue through the end of the 2026 calendar year at a minimum. However, one of the vehicle’s paint colors is now unavailable to order.
Specifically, the 2025 Cadillac XT5 can no longer be ordered in Crystal White Tricoat (color code G1W), removing a $1,225 exterior paint option offered on all trims.
Crystal White Tricoat
The Crystal White Tricoat will be built out during the week of May 25th, 2025, when the final 2025 Cadillac XT5 units in that hue will be produced. From the current time forward, the only way to buy an XT5 in Crystal White will be to locate an existing unit in inventory at a car dealership.
Crystal White is being removed from a number of other Caddy nameplates during the 2025 model year, with the 2025 Cadillac CT4 seeing its elimination and the 2025 Cadillac CT5 also dropping the paint color. The XT5 may get the replacement paint, Vibrant White Tricoat (color code G4J), provided the crossover actually survives into a new model year.
The Vibrant White Tricoat offered by Cadillac is also replacing Crystal White Tricoat across General Motors’ full range of brands. The paint appears under a different name for each brand, with Chevy dubbing G4J paint Polar White Tricoat and GMC designating the hue Glacier White Tricoat. Buick does not yet have a name for the color.
Motivation is provided to the 2025 Cadillac XT5 crossover by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine cranking out 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, or the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine providing 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. The GM nine-speed automatic transmission is connected to both engines, while the crossover comes in both FWD and AWD configurations.
Under the body panels, the 2025 XT5 rides atop the same GM C1 platform used by the rest of the crossover’s first generation. The GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee is the production site for the model.
