Runaway Cadillac Escalade Stopped By Head-On Collision: Video

A wild new viral video has hit the web, showing a runaway Cadillac Escalade barreling through an intersection before crashing head-on into another vehicle.

The 26-second clip captures the entire sequence, and was shot by another vehicle equipped with a dash cam. The clip opens to show a busy four-way intersection under clear, sunny conditions. The dash cam vehicle is seen stopped at a red light as cross-traffic moves quickly through the intersection in front of it.

In the distance, a Cadillac Escalade suddenly appears, moving erratically as it travels down the center divider and into oncoming lanes. The SUV’s front end is already heavily damaged, with a crumpled hood and mangled front fascia, indicating that it has already smashed into something.

As the Escalade nears the intersection, it veers back and forth, briefly hopping onto the center divider before clipping a traffic sign. Despite the erratic movement, it miraculously avoids T-bone collisions with cross-traffic as it moves through the intersection.

However, the SUV does not stop. Instead, we see the SUV continue to roll forward – directly toward the dash cam vehicle. Unfortunately, the dash cam vehicle looks like it’s a sitting duck, and the resulting head-on impact is pretty violent. The video’s final frame shows the camera pointing skyward from the force of the crash.

According to the user who posted the original video, the Cadillac Escalade’s registration was expired, and the driver may not have had insurance. Prior to the final head-on crash, the Escalade had apparently smashed into a delivery truck before crossing the median, resulting in the crumpled front-end.

Emergency responders rushed the Escalade driver to the hospital following the accident. Details about their condition remain unclear, and it is unknown whether the driver suffered a medical emergency or was otherwise impaired before the crash.

      1. The only relevant info is the out-the-door price and the interest rate if going to borrow money. Get the best for both, the payment will work itself out.

        1. You may shop for a car like that. You’re posting to this blog and not the average Liam or Amber. I venture to guess that most car buyers look at the payment.
