Subaru has introduced the 2026 Subaru Solterra, ushering in a mid-cycle refresh for the brand’s first-ever all-electric production vehicle. Initially debuting for the 2023 model year, the Solterra is essentially a rebadged Toyota bZ4X – however, with this latest 2026-model-year refresh, Subaru has updated the powertrain output, range-per-charge, and other key factors in an effort to make it more competitive in a growing EV market. The Subaru Solterra rivals the Chevy Equinox EV in the compact battery electric crossover segment.
Starting with the exterior, the 2026 Subaru Solterra presents a redesigned front bumper, new headlamps, and an illuminated six-star Subaru badge. Moving to the rear, we find new badging, a revised rear gate garnish, and a new spoiler that Subaru says improves aero performance.
Depending on the trim, buyers can choose between 18- or 20-inch aluminum wheels, and some models now offering body-color front fenders and two-tone paint options.
Inside, the cabin presents metallic dash accents and a horizontally mounted touchscreen. Front and center is an all-new 14-inch multimedia display, which includes support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless smartphone charging is standard for front passengers, and rear-seat passengers get high-powered USB-C ports. Further tech highlights include Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist suite, which throws in features like Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure Alert, Traffic Jam Assist, and Emergency Stop Assist, as well as a panoramic view monitor.
As for the power specs, the 2026 Solterra is juiced by a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, which yields upwards of 285 miles of range – a 25-percent improvement compared to the previous model. The new Solterra also supports fast charging up to 150 kW, which will recharge the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in less than 35 minutes. A newly added battery preconditioning system helps to ensure fast charging even in cold weather.
Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is paired with dual electric motors to make 233 horsepower on base variants, while the new XT trim bumps that figure up to 338 horsepower to deliver a 0-to-60-mph time under five seconds. For off-roading enthusiasts, the Solterra offers 8.3 inches of ground clearance and standard X-MODE with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud settings. Subaru has also improved the all-wheel-drive controller and suspension tuning for better handling and ride comfort.
The 2026 Subaru Solterra is expected to launch later this year, with pricing details announced shortly prior.

found strange so bumper crashed at side. why ?
Looks great to me. I bet they’re dying to put their black plastic all over it though!…
They reserved that for the Trailseeker. Evidently there’s still black fenders depending on the color combination.
