A fully redesigned 2026 Hyundai Palisade has debuted at the New York International Auto Show. Its highlights include a striking new aesthetic, a rugged new XRT Pro model, an available hybrid powertrain, and the latest technology.
“The all-new 2026 Hyundai Palisade showcases commitment to customer needs. With its bold design, tech that empowers, and enhanced comfort – including a reimagined third row – we wanted to offer a vehicle that truly meets the needs of today’s drivers,” Hyundai Senior Vice President of product planning Olabisi Boyle said. “The introduction of a hybrid variant, alongside our robust internal combustion engine and the adventure-ready XRT model, ensures that every driver finds their perfect fit. This strategic approach positions Hyundai to excel in any market environment, driving our continued growth in the SUV segment.”
The star of the show when it comes to the new Palisade’s design is the light signature. The front DRLs and taillights consist of stacked blocks, while the front end has headlights and a horizontal LED strip hidden in and around the grille. It’s a similar look around back ensuring that it’s unmistakable as a Palisade from every angle.
The redesigned interior takes inspiration from Hyundai’s Ioniq line of EVs and the latest Santa Fe. Dual panoramic displays handle infotainment and driver information duties, and it has the unique, twisting column shifter that’s becoming common in Hyundai and Kia models. The “reimagined third row” has more space and more light thanks to bigger third-row windows compared to the outgoing model.
The first-ever Hyundai Palisade XRT Pro builds on the XRT appearance package by actually adding some off-road upgrades, namely standard AWD, extra ground clearance, an electronic limited-slip differential, all-terrain tires, terrain modes, and a tow package. If this sounds familiar, it’s because Kia does essentially the same thing. For example, in the Kia Telluride lineup, X-Line is an appearance package, and X-Pro is a more capable off-roader.
“The 2026 Palisade XRT Pro is for people doing it all – raising families, chasing goals, showing up every day,” Boyle said. “We built this SUV by putting people first – thinking about real lives, real needs. It’s got space for your crew, capability when the road gets rough, and the kind of comfort, style, and efficiency that proves luxury doesn’t have to come with a luxury price. We wanted to deliver a vehicle where affordability can meet lifestyle – no matter where off-road you want to go.”
As with the outgoing generation, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade will continue to rival the Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia. Now that it has a proper off-road trim, the Palisade XRT Pro will compete with the Traverse Z71 and Acadia AT4. Of course, a big advantage that the Hyundai now has over GM is a hybrid option.
The V6-powered 2026 Palisade will go on sale in the U.S. in early summer, and the hybrid model will be available in early fall.

Great looking car! And a hybrid option too! Probably my next vehicle.
V6 and Hybrid options. Where’s the options like this from GM?
this front is better than what GM does complicated… here is straight harmony… though have problems with the position of side mirror but liked the white inside
I think the V6 here is pretty proven.
IMO, GM rather sell you a v8 SUV than stuff a v6 in another fwd CUV like it’s ’07 if you want a larger engine and I agree, although they really need to add hybrids to the ICE lineup..
ICE and Hybrid is the direction Cadillac should have gone vs. all EV. Hybrid makes much more sense.
gm ought to be embarrassed by how much better the Palisade is than the C1 triplets (design, V6, real third-row window, etc.).
Have you heard the 625T at full throttle? Yikes. Reminds me of my old Iron Duke (except with actual hp).
This is comical when the V6 nut swingers jump in, shows completely how clueless they are. The V6 puts out 290 hp and 260 ftlbs, whoa stop the presses. But it has 6 cylinders praise the lord. Still don’t understand this dated way of thinking, but many of the same guys are good with a hybrid. Which that has it going for it and I am sure GM will in the future as they have stated they are trending that direction. Design wise it is good looking, though the GM twins are pretty nice as well, but the GM twins are bigger though with more room. Not sure why anyone would get that dog of a V6, but to each their own.
Would never buy any one of the hideous GM models. Dream on about the GM’s being better
Great look, available with a “non-black” interior, V6 , hybrid option and AWD. Oh and a great warrenty. GM has nothing to compare with. IMO.
Not sure about the interior. It appears that steering wheel controls were a couple of box attached to the steering wheel as an afterthought.
The Hyundai console only has two cup holders easily available to the front seat whereas the Acadia console has the two rear seat cup holder with in easy reach of the front seat driver and passenger. This very handy for long trips.
The Acadia Denali has an off white leather interior as well.
I can’t believe I’m seemingly in the minority when looking at other comments here, but I find this thing pretty ugly, inside and out.
