Kyle Larson Reveals Indy, NASCAR Chevy Race Cars For 2025 ‘Double’

2021 Cup Series champion Kyle Larson is gearing up for another attempt at tackling both the Indy 500 and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 in the same day, recently unveiling the Chevy race cars that will carry him across those 1,100 miles in “The Double.”

Larson revealed the liveries that will decorate both race cars at the NASCAR Productions Facility, accompanied by Hendrick Motorsports Vice Chairman Jeff Gordon, according to a report from NASCAR.com. First, Larson will drive the No. 17 Arrow McLaren Chevy in the famous Indy 500 before heading back to the familiar No. 5 Chevy fielded by Hendrick Motorsports to tackle the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte later that day.

HendrickCars.com will share its colors with Larson’s IndyCar Chevy, and its classic blue will be accompanied by Arrow McLaren’s iconic papaya orange on its nose sides. His NASCAR-going race car will feature a similar scheme, with a blue nose and papaya accents decorating its sides and roof. Together, the race cars make up what Larson and his teams are calling the #Hendrick1100.

“They look great,” Larson said. “The IndyCar, to me, I love it because I don’t think I’ve seen an IndyCar quite have this much detail to it before. So it looks sweet. And then obviously, the Cup car looks awesome as well. They look fast, and I’m sure they’ll be fast.”

Larson attempted to run the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 in 2024. Unfortunately, his day was thwarted by rain at both racetracks, which delayed the Indy 500 and cut the Coca-Cola 600 short before he could turn a single lap in NASCAR’s longest race. Hopefully, this year, weather won’t play a role in either race – but Larson’s NASCAR team owner, Rick Hendrick, said that if it comes down to it, he’s not going to give the driver a choice on which race he should prioritize. Simply put, Larson will be required to race in Charlotte, even if that means ditching the Indy 500 mid-race.

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 will pace the field at the 2025 Indy 500 while a fleet of 2025 Chevy Silverado RST and 2025 Corvette Stingray units serve as Festival Event Vehicles. Both races are scheduled for Sunday, May 25th, 2025.

  4. Really hope he’s able to get it done this year, & run great both races. He had an unexpectedly bad day today at Darlington, crashing on the 4th lap, & then again later in the race at the same spot. GO KYLE!
