Here’s When 2026 Chevy Tahoe, Suburban Production Is Scheduled To Start

General Motors launched a refreshed Chevy Tahoe and Suburban for the 2025 model year with an aesthetic facelift, tweaks to the suspension and the diesel engine option, and new tech features like a 17.7-inch infotainment display and the Super Cruise hands-free driving system. Now, GM Authority has learned when production of the 2026 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban is scheduled to get under way.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2026 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban is currently scheduled for September 8th, 2025. Dealers will be able to start configuring the vehicle online and saving orders on July 10th. Note that these dates are tentative and may change.

After receiving a mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 model year, minor changes are expected for the 2026 model year. As is the case with several other Chevy models, namely the 2026 Chevy Equinox and 2026 Chevy Silverado EV, we’re expecting Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (G1W) to be replaced by Polar White Tricoat (G4J).

As a reminder, customers ordering the 2025 or 2026 Chevy Tahoe or Suburban have three engine choices: the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine (355 horsepower, 383 pound-feet of torque), the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine (420 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque), and the new-for-2025 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax (305 horsepower, 495 pound-feet of torque).

Pricing is forthcoming for the 2026 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban. For the 2025 model year, the Tahoe starts at $61,195 for the entry-level LS trim with RWD, while a range-topping High Country model with four-wheel drive starts at $83,895. The Suburban costs $3,000 extra across the board. We don’t expect major changes to the pricing for 2026.

All 2026 Chevy Tahoe and 2026 Suburban variants will continue to use the GM T1 platform, and production will take place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

  1. I have zero confidence that the 6.2 GM recall numbers: N252494000, N252494001 and N252494002 loss of propulsion issue is resolved. Why would I as a customer pay $80K for this vechile and not have any confidence in the 6.2?

  2. I waited for 2025 so I could get the updated diesel.

The inventory has been slim and they didn’t deliver the abiliity to record video.

I hope both of those are solved in 2026.

  3. They did a engineering update and made the parts stronger in 2024. So you are fine now. It was a metal problem and more than likely the same company Toyota used to source the bearings for the Tundra V6 that kept blowing up.
