GMC Yukon Denali RHD Remanufacturing Begins In Australia

After orders for the full-size SUV opened in the country in November, the right-hand-drive remanufacturing process for the all-new 2025 GMC Yukon Denali has begun in Australia.

General Motors has begun converting all-new 2025 GMC Yukon Denali units for right-hand drive at its GMSV Dandenong Plant in Victoria, Australia, a facility responsible for adapting GM’s full-size truck and SUV lineup to the RHD configuration for the domestic markets of Australia and New Zealand. The first remanufactured Yukon Denali rolled out of the plant, introducing GMC to both countries.

“This is a flagship product in the truest sense of the term – an eight-seat family vehicle unrivalled in terms performance and practicality,” said GM Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Jess Bala. “There’s no better vehicle to launch the GMC brand in our market, with the Yukon Denali’s combination of potent performance, towing confidence and luxury in every seat delivering a truly unique proposition in the upper-large SUV space,” she added.

Specifically, the start of right-hand-drive remanufacturing of the all-new 2025 GMC Yukon Denali at GMSV’s independent Australian facility represents a key step ahead of the model’s imminent arrival in key markets across Oceania as the brand’s first model in the region. As such, production of the 2025 Yukon Denali will be well underway ahead of the first deliveries of the awe-inspiring eight-seat SUV in Australia starting in May.

The 2025 GMC Yukon Denali joined the Chevy Silverado and Chevy Silverado HD on the GMV plant’s remanufacturing lines as the third American full-size model to be fitted in RHD configuration for sale in the Australian and New Zealand markets. The Yukon Denali features the 6.2L V8 L87 engine with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, mated to GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission.

The all-new 2025 GMC Yukon Denali RHD will officially go on sale in May at GMSV’s dealer network in Australia and New Zealand, becoming the American manufacturer’s first remanufactured full-size SUV sold in both countries. The Yukon Denali will arrive fully equipped and set new benchmarks for a premium full-size SUV in the region.

  1. In Ausie land, with their tariffs and import duties, I can’t imagine what those cost – compared to here. Hence, no price mentioned? Anyone knows the price. $$?

    1. $174,990 per the ‘4x4Australia’ website. Not including “on-road costs”, whatever those may be.

  2. Not to mention how much the right hand conversion must add to the price!!

  3. And then there is the issue of the L87 engine. An Aussie will have to really want a GMC to put up with the pricing and quality concerns.

    1. Some 2380 ish trucks were sold. I am talking about Silverado LDs.
MY24 sales. Not sure about NZ…
So out of that, how many L87s would have blown……

I believe the 2025 Patrol Warrior is a better value proposition + you get a nice exhaust….

In general due to complexity things are not the same as they were. A 2023 Land Cruiser would have more issues than a 2015 Land Cruiser (and yes, there have been J300 failures as well in Australia).

Either way, I DON’T trust the L87 anymore.

  4. In Australia no tariffs, Marty. Korean Japanese European and even now Chinese manage to produce direct from the “the factory” in RHD. GM are at a huge price disadvantage to start with. Then us Aussies remember what GM did to HOLDEN, so will not be in a hurry to buy. Long memories……

  5. So what does GM do with the left hand drive parts after the conversion?
