GM Showcases 2026 Chevy D-Max Pickup Capabilities In Ecuador

The automaker recently unveiled the new 2026 Chevy D-Max pickup during an exclusive event in Guayaquil, Ecuador’s most populous and strategic city. The company organized a special ceremony with several Chevrolet dealerships to unveil the 2026 D-Max to customers, partners, and the media, as part of the launch strategy for this key model in the South American country.

“The new 2026 Chevrolet D-Max is designed to deliver superior performance and an exceptional driving experience. With innovations in its engine, technology, and safety, this pickup truck marks the evolution of a model that has accompanied Ecuadorians for nine generations,” said GM Ecuador Product Manager, Juan Fernando Muñoz. “This event in Guayaquil is a demonstration of Chevrolet’s commitment to being close to its customers, reaffirming the quality and support that characterize the brand,” he added.

In fact, the special unveiling event for the new 2026 Chevy D-Max in Ecuador’s second-largest city is the first of multiple marketing initiatives GM Ecuador has prepared to ensure a successful introduction of the model – which is tasked with maintaining its sales leadership in the country. To bring the truck to as many customers as possible, the events include rigorous test drive programs to demonstrate the D-Max’s capabilities.

The test track for the second introduction event of the 2026 Chevy D-Max in the Ecuadorian market exposed the pickup truck to specific maneuvers, such as lateral inclination, acceleration, stability, braking, loading, and towing. During these maneuvers, participants tested the performance of the 2026 D-Max with engineering tuning specific to Ecuador and the 2.0L turbodiesel engine with an output of 159 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

The new 2026 Chevy D-Max is now available for sale at Chevrolet’s official dealer network in Ecuador, the first of several South American markets to feature the SAIC Motor-based pickup truck, first introduced in Mexico as the Chevy S10 Max. The initial range includes distinctive Hi-Ride and Premier trim levels, with a starting price of USD $29,999 – the country’s official currency.

    1. This is basically a reskinned Chinese SAIC Maxus truck.
I am pretty sure with this truck they are targeting people who cannot afford a Hilux.

It is however a disgrace to the name because the older model was based on the Isuzu D Max……(even though the relationship was cut)…
