GM has published a list of its 2024 Supplier of the Year Award winners with 90 different companies making the grade to receive the award, as well as its more rigorously judged Overdrive Awards with just 8 winners in total.
The winners were presented at a Phoenix, Arizona event presided over by GM CEO Mary Barra, with recognition extended to 92 suppliers overall in a dozen different countries.
GM notes that it picks not only those suppliers offering the best performance during 2024, but those that matched their operations best to The General’s expressed values and objectives. The companies also had to have a “strong relationship” with the automaker, as might be expected, and be adept at communicating clearly with their partner.
General Motors says it was the strength of these relationships between it and its suppliers that enabled it both to weather the COVID-19 pandemic and to bounce back strongly in the years since that event. The list of Supplier of the Year award winners is shown in the table below:

Furthermore, GM recognized eight companies as Overdrive Award winners. This special award is given only to those companies that might be said to have gone “above and beyond the call of duty.” The award is reserved for those “suppliers that truly exceed expectations during critical moments” according to the General.
Singled out as an example was Auria Solutions, a manufacturer of automotive floor mats, sound-dampening materials, headliners, and the like. When Hurricane Helene struck North Carolina, Auria quickly restarted its operations while simultaneously providing area disaster relief, including by drilling two wells used both for production and local water supply, along with opening an aid station, donating electric generators and handing out food.
GM chief procurement officer Jim Morrison described Auria’s actions as “one of many shining examples of our suppliers going big when the going gets tough.” The 2025 Overdrive Award winners include:
Auria Old Fort | Infineon | Murata | Scheaffler |
---|---|---|---|
COAVIS | Magna International | NorthGate | Walbridge |
Morrison added that “together, we’re leading with agility and efficiency while driving innovation and manufacturing excellence.” He said that GM and its top suppliers are “bringing the industry’s broadest portfolio of both gas-powered and electric vehicles to market for […] customers.”

Chinyang Automotive Co., Ltd.? Why does Marry and Co still using Chinese suppliers?
FYI this is a Korean supplier.
GM should spend their time and efforts relearning how to build reliable engines and transmissions.
Hopefully none of the manufacturers that won make the defective lifters.
Another supplier that should be excluded from an award is the one that supplies carbon fiber parts for the Corvette line. Untold delays for Corvette buyers wanting carbon fiber components on their orders. Unbelievable short coming 5 years into production.
Maybe a “Razzie” award for that supplier.
Trump is so right on! I was once a great GM supporter, but no longer! GM tossed aside it’s US
supplier base. So many took pride working for GM, both Salary & Union, the company threw them under the bus. Delco Electronic in Kokomo, In was the 3rd largest Chip producer in the US in 1983, only IBM & ATT were larger! Instead of building on that, they spun it off, most of it went to CHINA. GM constantly shoots itself in the foot, then always blames it on UAW or other market conditions! — How in the world did GM get into such a situation. A good read is “American Turn-Around”. — People go to Buick because they want a USA built car, only to find the car is made in CHINA or KOREA. If I wanted a foreign made car I’d go to a foreign dealer! There is a growing number of us that will be going to Buick Dealers letting customer know that GM is bringing those cars from COMMUNIST CHINA and selling them on their lots! How low can GM go! Need to fire Mary Barry to keep GM alive.
