DXDT Racing delivered the Corvette Racing Z06 GT3.R its first trip to Victory Lane in the team’s 2025 GT World Challenge (GTWC) campaign. Blake McDonald and Matt Bell shared the wheel of the No. 11 Vette, taking it to the top of the Pro Am class and finishing third overall in the 90-minute sprint at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) on April 26th, 2025.
Bell laid down the fastest lap during Race One, while McDonald set the pace as the fastest Bronze-rated driver during that same race. McDonald held control for the first 40 minutes, starting from third place on the grid. When Bell took control, it didn’t take him long to track down the class leader, completing the maneuver with 25 minutes left on the clock. The No. 11 Corvette Racing team never looked back, winning the Pro Am class for the first time this year.
“We’ve just really clicked as a team and pairing,” Bell said. “Blake did a great job from the start. He was the one who handed me effectively an 11-second lead and I just had to maintain it. It’s hard racing and I came under some pressure for the No. 29 [BMW] guys. But thanks to everyone at DXDT Racing, Blake… it was an awesome team job and team win.”
McDonald added, “That had to be the longest 40 minutes our life! We were all biting our nails a little bit. But I couldn’t be happier. We were worked so hard from this. To bounce back from the Sonoma weekend, it’s the best.”
The Bell-McDonald duo went on to finish third in the Pro Am category in the weekend’s second race on April 27th. Last year, the team swept both rounds at COTA before going on to win eight more races.
Meanwhile, the No. 50 Corvette Racing team, Chouest Povoledo Racing, saw driver Ross Choueset score his first GT3 podium finish at COTA on Sunday, finshing third during the second of two 40-minute GT America races.
