Chevrolet Drops To Fifth Among Best-Selling Auto Brands In Chile During February 2025

Chevrolet Chile sales decreased 25 percent to 1,209 units in February 2025. The figures place Chevrolet as the country’s fifth best-selling automobile brand during the month, behind Suzuki, Toyota, Kia and Hyundai.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited, since reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance (for models for which sales data is available) was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Chevrolet also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

During the first two months of the 2025 calendar year, Chevrolet Chile sales decreased 13 percent to 2,841 units.

The GM Authority Take

The notable double-digit drop in Chevrolet Chile sales in February deepens the brand’s negative performance in the South American country. Chevrolet’s contraction last month in the Chilean market represents the brand’s second consecutive month in the red, where it continues to lose competitiveness and market share, now ranking fifth among the best-selling brands within the local auto space.

Unlike in January, most models offered by Chevrolet in Chile saw a drop in sales volumes in February, including the best-selling Chevy Groove. The brand’s entry-level crossover suffered its first sales setback so far in 2025, losing 109 units year-over-year and giving up its usual spot as the country’s best-selling utility vehicle. Meanwhile, the Chevy N400 also contributed to the overall drop-off, experiencing the biggest drop among tracked models (not including the formerly popular Chevy Tracker and Chevy Onix).

Only Chevrolet’s Commercial Truck lineup and the new Chevy Sail were in the green during the month, but both posted such slight increases that they failed to offset the widespread drops across the rest of the portfolio. In addition, the updated Chevy Colorado returned to the top of its segment and is seeing increased popularity with customers.
