The GM Authority Take

The triple-digit increase in Chevrolet Argentina sales in March continues the brand’s green streak in the South American country, where it has now accumulated four consecutive months of growth with significant volume gains during each one. In fact, the March performance also represents the second consecutive month during which Chevy registered a triple-digit increase, while also being the highest sales volume it has achieved to date in the Argentine market.

Once again, the vast majority of Chevrolet Argentina models achieved dramatic increases in sales volume during March, posting significant gains in terms of both percentage and volume. The lineup continues to be led by the Chevy Tracker, the brand’s only locally-manufactured model and the country’s best-selling model. The crossover recorded a stellar performance during the month, adding nearly 1,000 units on a year-over-year basis, allowing it to maintain its position as the best-selling Chevy in the local market.

But it was the performance of the Chevy Onix that was the most noteworthy. It registered a very significant improvement that strengthens Chevrolet’s competitive position in one of the most popular segments of the Argentine market, which the Onix dominated in previous years. In addition, the Chevy Montana once again registered the highest growth rate among all models during the month, once again reinforcing its position as Chevy’s fastest-growing nameplate locally.
