It’s no secret that vehicle prices are quite high, with inflation exacerbating the issue over the last several years and no sign of it slowing down any time soon. Nevertheless, some vehicles remain relatively affordable, among them the Cadillac XT5 luxury crossover. In fact, looking at MSRP figures back to the 2021 model year, pricing for the Cadillac XT5 has remained surprisingly steady.
Looking at the MSRP figures over the last five model years, we find that the XT5 Luxury trim started at $44,990 in 2021 and is now priced at $45,790 for the 2025 model year, marking a 1.8-percent increase. Similarly, the Premium Luxury trim moved from $46,990 in 2021 to $47,790 in 2025, a 1.7-percent bump over five years. The Sport trim, which has seen the largest price adjustment in the lineup, increased from $56,090 in 2021 to $58,690 in 2025, equating to a 4.6-percent rise overall. These adjustments contrast sharply with broader industry pricing trends, which have often seen double-digit percentage increases during the same period, in particular for popular, high-volume models like the Chevy Silverado 1500.
In addition to a relatively stable base price, the XT5’s destination freight charge (DFC) has also shown a small uptick, rising from $1,195 in 2021 to $1,495 as of April 2025. This $300 increase aligns with broader shipping and logistics cost inflation, but still reflects a tempered approach compared to other models.
Check out the table below to see how it all breaks down. Note that prices listed here include DFC:
Trim Level | 2021 | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 | 2025 | Increase 2025 vs. 2021 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Luxury | $44,990 | $45,190 | $45,590 | $45,290 | $45,790 | 1.8% |
Premium Luxury | $46,990 | $47,190 | $47,590 | $47,290 | $47,790 | 1.7% |
Sport | $56,090 | $57,090 | $58,490 | $58,190 | $58,690 | 4.6% |
The modest price increase outlined above stands in contrast to the broader US inflation rate during the same time period. Per USInflationCalculator.com, the inflation rate was measured at an average of seven percent in 2021, 6.5 percent in 2022, 3.4 percent in 2023, 2.9 percent in 2024, and 2.4 percent so far in 2025.
The XT5 itself has remained largely unchanged since 2021, and continues to offer two gasoline powertrain options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX. The XT5 rides on the GM C1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Spring Hill facility in Tennessee.
While Cadillac originally planned to sunset the XT5 following the conclusion of the 2025 model year, similar to the XT6, The General recently confirmed that the XT5 will now remain in production through at least the end of the 2026 calendar year. Meanwhile, the second-gen XT5 is now available as a Chinese-market exclusive.
