GM has issued a new safety recall for certain units of the 2023-2025 Cadillac Lyriq that have loose front stabilizer bar bracket bolts.
General Motors Safety Recall numbers N252494190 and N252494191 also describe a remedy available to Cadillac Lyriq owners in the U.S. and Canada. GM issues two separate recalls: one for the left front stabilizer bar and another for the right front stabilizer bar.
The problem: affected 2023-2025 Cadillac Lyriq units were shipped with improperly fastened front stabilizer bar bracket bolts.
The hazards: if both bolts on the left or right bracket loosen and separate from the vehicle’s frame, a loose stabilizer bar or bracket can damage the vehicle’s high-voltage cables or EV battery coolant lines. If these cables or coolant lines are sufficiently damaged, over time, the vehicle may shut off or become undriveable, increasing the risk of an accident.
The fix: GM service departments will inspect and, as necessary, retorque or replace the front stabilizer bracket bolts.
Affected components: front stabilizer shaft bracket bolts
Affected vehicles:
- 2023-2025 Cadillac Lyriq
Number of affected vehicles: A total of 17 units are affected by these two recalls in the United States, and another two affected units were sold in Canada.
Owners should: wait for GM to communicate whether their Cadillac Lyriq is affected by the recalls. Those with additional questions can contact Cadillac customer service at the toll-free telephone listed below, referring to the recall number as needed to identify the issue.
