Caddy’s $340,000+ flagship sportback sedan, the 2025 Cadillac Celestiq, is bigger in almost all interior dimensions – though only by a few tenths of an inch in some cases – than the luxury brand’s previously flagship sedan, the discontinued (at least outside China) Cadillac CT6.
As the table below shows, headroom, shoulder room and hip room are all bigger for the Cadillac Celestiq, making it somewhat more spacious than the CT6 it is the successor to, though front legroom shrinks by about 0.6 inch:
Celestiq | CT6 | Celestiq vs. CT6 | |
---|---|---|---|
Front Headroom (in. / mm) | 40.7 / 1,034 | 40.2 / 1,021 | +0.5 / +13 |
Front Legroom (in. / mm) | 45.8 / 1,163 | 46.4 / 1,179 | -0.6 / -16 |
Front Shoulder Room (in. / mm) | 59.6 / 1,514 | 58.3 / 1,481 | +1.3 / +33 |
Front Hip Room (in. / mm) | 58.0 / 1,473 | 55.9 / 1,420 | +2.1 / +47 |
Rear Headroom (in. / mm) | 38.7 / 983 | 38.0 / 965 | +0.7 / +18 |
Rear Legroom (in. / mm) | 38.7 / 983 | 40.4 / 1,026 | -1.7 / -43 |
Rear Shoulder Room (in. /mm) | 58.6 / 1,488 | 56.2 / 1,427 | +2.4 / +61 |
Rear Hip Room (in. / mm) | 56.3 / 1,430 | 53.5 / 1,359 | +2.8 / +71 |
Rear Cargo Volume (cu. ft. / L) | 31.6 / 894 | 15.8 / 447 | +15.8 / + 447 |
Front Cargo Volume (cu. ft. / L) | 1.9 / 54 | - | - |
While occupants of the 2025 Cadillac Celestiq enjoy a little more elbow room – between half an inch and nearly three inches for most dimensions – the increase in cargo space over the CT6 is more notable. The Celestiq exactly doubles the rear cargo room found in the CT6, from 15.8 cubic feet to 31.6 cubic feet. Additionally, it has 1.9 cubic feet of cargo space under the hood, or “frunk.”
The extra cargo space comes at a steep price, however. The starting MSRP of the 2020 Cadillac CT6 – the final year produced – was set at $59,990 for the most affordable trim and ranged up to $98,790. Depending on trim, the very cheapest, completely non-customized Celestiq costs 244 percent to 467 percent as much as the previous CT6 flagship.
In previous GM Authority comparisons, the Celestiq was shown to be longer than the 2025 Cadillac Escalade full-size sport utility vehicle, and just a few inches short of the extended-length 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV. We also looked at the interior of the luxurious all-electric Cadillac Escalade IQ and questioned whether the Celestiq was worth roughly three times more in order to get, for example, features like “leather-wrapped floors” rather than carpeting.
However, in addition to luxury and extreme customization, along with its undeniably distinctive styling, the Cadillac Celestiq now offers even more power. The vehicle now offers a blistering 655 horsepower and 646 pound-feet of torque, enabling it to blast from zero to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. This still falls short of other models, such as the Tesla Model S Plaid that boasts 1,000 horsepower and gallops from 0-to-60 mph in a hair-raising 2.0 seconds.
The Cadillac Celestiq is underpinned by the GM BEV3 platform with energy provided by a 111-kWh GM battery pack. About 100 to 150 units are expected to be hand-built yearly at the GM Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan with each unit extraordinarily customized.

Beautiful car.
Agree. Fuentes like it at first but it’s really grown on me.
*didn’t
So what? The CT6 is pretty and this thing is ghastly.
It’s pretty…. PRETTY UGLY!
Although a bit quirky, I thought it looked good from photos and videos. Now that I’ve been inside one, it BLEW me away. The craftsmanship and little details everywhere were endless. It has a very large presence and is stunning to look at. I’ve been in plenty of Rolls Royces and can honestly say there’s no way I’d choose one over this. This car won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but it absolutely stands up to the task
So much ink spilled like this. Everywhere.
There’s a story out there about this car. Some day, it’ll all make sense.
Interestingly the rear legroom is not larger than the CT6’s since it is an EV. By the looks of the pics, it looks large inside.
I would love to own both of these beast… a ct6 V and a celestiq
Will it fit in a standard two car garage?
Four times the price, ugly, and tethered to a charger. Hard pass
The CT6 was the antithesis of the Celestiq in many ways, one of which is curb weight. For its size, CT6 was feather light weighing in at only 3,666 pounds. Its light weight gave it the handling prowess and drivability of a much smaller car. GM had worked hard to achieve this and the car was lauded for it by the automotive press.
The Celestiq, by contrast, is a porker weighing nearly twice as much; reportedly over 6,600 pounds. Nobody outside GM knows how it handles or how it’s weight impacts that but it’s likely not going to have the same rave reviews for drivability or efficiency simply because, like all Ultium products, they suffer from extremely high mass.
Who wrote this article? SMH Please give me a job. This was so poor. What on earth made you say the Celestiq is a CT6 replacement? The Celestiq isn’t even in the same class as the CT6 was. Jesus wept. Smh
Both are considered the flagship sedan of the Cadillac brand, by Cadillac. Therefore, Cadillac considers it to be the replacement for the CT6. Neither your opinion of the vehicle, nor mine, affects this fact, which it is my job to report, not to provide an opinion piece.
No amount of lipstick can save this fat pig.
So what, it’s still a homely beast.
It’s all publicity because there are zero Celestcalades sold. “Maybe if we say that it’s better than the better looking CT6 people will notice.” Not. Why would anyone want a super heavy vehicle. Did you know all that heavy weight of electric vehicles is causing problems on bridges with weight limits and streets where underground water pipes are breaking due to the heavier weight?
They have been seen in many places. They are sold out and many have been sold. Silly a 18 wheeler is far heaver. What oil company do you work for.
Retail sales of this ugly looking $340,000+ hearse mobile is still at zero.
