Ambulance Rams Numerous GM Vehicles GTA-Style, Driver Gets Arrested: Video

A new viral video has hit the web showing a driver behind the wheel of an ambulance ram multiple GM vehicles before they are eventually arrested by police.

The video looks as though it was captured by a bystander using their phone, who was apparently looking out an adjacent window down at a parking lot where the incident took place.

An ambulance rams multiple GM vehicles.

As the video gets under way, we see the ambulance already causing a good deal of destruction as it rams a Chevy Impala up and over a grassy divider. The ambulance looks as though it pushes the Chevy sedan with ease as the driver puts the throttle down, all as onlookers watch on in shock.

As the Impala is shoved back over the grassy divider, it eventually collides with another GM vehicle, specifically a Chevy Monte Carlo. The ambulance then successfully shoves the Impala up and on top of the adjacent Monte Carlo, and before long, the ambulance is at the back of a multi-Chevy conga line as the Impala rests on the roof of the Monte Carlo, with all three vehicles heading towards another adjacent grassy median.

The destruction derby continues as the ambulance then pushes the Impala and Monte Carlo into yet another GM vehicle, namely a GMC Yukon. The pile-up leaves the Impala resting on top of the GMC Yukon, its rear tires sticking into the air in dramatic fashion.

The whole scene is pretty insane, with multiple commenters stating that it’s like something out of the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise. The driver behind the wheel of the ambulance then hops out of the cabin and starts to run away. A group of emergency responders follow, as do police, the latter of whom pull up to take the individual into custody.

It’s uncertain exactly what triggered the rampage in the first place, or how the individual in question managed to get behind the wheel of the ambulance. Luckily, though, it appears as though no one was injured, although the trail of destroyed GM vehicles is a sorry sight to see.

    1. Not a woman CEO, but an inept CEO.

        1. Pft. You realize she basically started with a clean slate right? As in basically zero debt load.

Meanwhile her predecessors were dealing with paying $8B/yr just in debt servicing, contributing $3-4B/yr toward their $22B in unfunded pension obligations. Nearly all of that built up over decades to prior to them. Then add the approximately $10B+ cost of spinning off their wildly uncompetitive in-house parts operations (aka Delphi). And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Hang those numbers on gm’s balance sheet today and gm’s CEO (man or woman) would be hot footing it to Washington for another bailout PDQ.

  4. Not to worry some bleeding-heart judge will have this guy home to mommy’s basement playing video games in a couple of hours. While several unfortunate people will be left with thousands of dollars of damage expenses.

    1. If I was the Judge, I would set up the firing squad right there. Maybe let the police do it. No need for a judge. I’d happily live in a police state for security so I can eat at Burger King in peace. All I need is buck and a half gas. Drill baby Drill!

    2. Don’t know what state this happened in, but in many states emergency vehicles and their owners and operators are exempt from insurance claims resulting from accidents. Normally ambulance operators, fire companies, etc are only required to pay the deductible of other parties if there is collision or comprehensive coverage on a vehicle hit. Only if there is no insurance in place on the vehicle(s) they hit are they liable to pay full damage. It really sucks because the owner of a parked car, sideswiped by an emergency vehicle can end up with a chargeable accident for damage to a car that wasn’t even being driven.
