As one of three special models to celebrate its 100th anniversary in Brazil, General Motors announced that the new Chevy S10 100 Years edition is about to arrive in the South American country.
The automaker is preparing the imminent launch of the new Chevy S10 100th anniversary edition in Brazil, where it is actively continuing its centennial celebration initiatives for Chevrolet and all of its commercial operations in the country. The new S10 100 Years edition will continue GM’s local tradition of launching special versions and limited series that mark an era with bold proposals of style, technology, and innovation.
“Special editions have always been a powerful tool for Chevrolet to communicate an idea, celebrate a moment or enhance a specific product attribute,” said Product Marketing Manager for GM South America, Suelen Arice. “They are part of our identity and represent the brand’s ability to interpret the spirit of the times, connecting with the consumer’s desires and values,” she added.
Interestingly, the new Chevy S10 100 Years edition represents the 100th special edition in the manufacturer’s history in the country, and will coincide with GM Brazil’s centenary. The first special-edition concept, the Chevy Chevette GP, was introduced by Chevrolet to the Brazilian market approximately five decades ago. Another 98 editions of iconic vehicles from multiple segments have been introduced since then.
In addition to previewing it at its January anniversary event, the company has revealed some images and details about the Chevy S10 100 Years edition, which will have an off-road approach. In fact, GM says the 100th anniversary S10 will innovate with a new level of customization, incorporating exclusive aesthetics, custom suspension and tires, a reference to the more extreme off-road versions.
The new Chevy S10 100 Years edition will be revealed soon and officially launch in the coming days in Brazil, the only country in the world where the international version of Chevrolet’s midsize pickup is currently manufactured. The special edition S10 is expected to be offered in limited units to reinforce the nameplate’s image and boost sales of the standard versions of the model in its highly competitive segment.

GM needs to bring back the S10 and make it a competitor to the Ford Maverick. Midsized trucks are huge in size compared to the old S10 amd have gotten outnof control in price.
My first Chevy was a pewter 2001 Zr2 S10 supercab 4.3L that I bought in 2003 with 7k miles on it for $16k! Try finding that deal know. It was a good little truck.
Good for South America…wish they were being available in the states.
South America needs cheaper cars as they cannot afford the monster vehicles which you get….
So the vehicle lineup is vastly more different. In other countries it differs too.
is this S10 just a Colorado with lipstick on?
No, its an entirely different truck.
It is designed to compete with the Hilux, so is built more towards fleets and work than the Colorado you get it, which itself can tow a lot.
And, I believe its a lot cheaper and slightly smaller due to the roads not being able to accommodate the regular Colorado….though the price depends on the variant you get.
