Subaru has unveiled the new 2026 Trailseeker EV at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, debuting an all-electric off-roader boasting 375 horsepower, 260 miles of range, and over eight inches of ground clearance. The new 2026 Subaru Trailseeker will go on sale next year. At present, GM does not offer a direct rival – although the Chevy Blazer EV could be considered a competitor, the Blazer EV does no offer a trail-ready or off-roader variant similar to the new Trailseeker.
Outside, the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker advances Subaru’s latest EV-based styling language, as was initially previewed by the Subaru Solterra, but with larger exterior dimensions. Compared to the Solterra, the new Trailseeker is over six inches longer and stands nearly an inch taller. Up front, we find redesigned headlights, a new bumper design, and a six-star illuminated logo, while a distinctive three-dimensional SUBARU badge was added to the rear. Roof rails are standard, while 18- and 20-inch wheel options roll in the corners.
Inside, the Trailseeker features a flat floor and high roofline to maximize headroom and legroom. The rear cargo area is larger than the Solterra’s, with added vertical space and an available 120V power outlet for gear. Up front, the dash is anchored by a 14-inch touchscreen, the largest screen ever fitted in a Subaru, and includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Two USB-C ports in the rear keep passengers powered up.
Providing the go is a pair of electric motors, one front and one rear, producing a combined 375 horsepower with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard. Properly motivated, the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker EV can hit 60 mph in about 4.4 seconds, while towing capacity is set at 3,500 pounds. A 74.7 kWh battery provides the electrons, and is good for over 260 miles of range while supporting up to 150 kW fast charging via a standard NACS-compatible port. Subaru also equipped the Trailseeker with X-Mode Dual-Mode off-road settings, Grip Control, and Downhill Assist Control, making it more capable in snow, mud, or dirt.
Pricing for the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker will be announced closer to its market debut. Look for it at dealerships nationwide.

260 miles of range? No thanks. I’ll buy a Tesla Model Y instead.
This vehicle is equivalent of Kia EV9 standard range which has 76.1kwh and only comes with rear-wheel-drive. Yet the Trailseeker despite having all-wheel-drive, more horsepower, faster acceleration still has longer range (Kia EV9 has 230mi range)
260 miles of range is no where near competitive in today’s market, wonder what the sales figures will look like

idk why the difference is there but it still doesnt make it competitive
This is just a lifted and stretched Solterra.
Not a good start for a new model.
hey guys … know you are new generation and always gives me thumb down, but is it for you beautiful ?
I swear Toyota’s Blue Nexus probably has the best electric motor in the industry in terms of power and efficiency. And yes I proclaim that theirs are even better than whatever the Chinese are cooking. This vehicle is equivalent of Kia EV9 standard range which has 76.1kwh and only comes with rear-wheel-drive. ‘No Direct GM Rival’ – isn’t the Blazer EV pretty close to this one you add roof rails and different tires? Both around 8″ of ground clearance, maybe the Subaru has bumpers designed for better approach/departure angles though.
Now that’s the ass end the Solterra should have had all along. Toyota probably wouldn’t let them build it because they had the Crown Signia ready to launch in the background (just like the updated Prius that used all the negative press about the Solterra and bZ4X to make a more reasonable interior (that you didn’t hear the same noise about for some reason).
