GMC Canada has announced the debut of two new trim levels of the 2026 GMC Sierra EV for the Canadian market, including the Elevation trim and the off-road ready AT4 trim, to complete a three-trim lineup also including the premium Denali.
The introduction of the Elevation and AT4 trims include details which largely mirror those of the U.S. 2026 GMC Sierra EV, with pricing, range, and several other details to be provided closer to the trims’ actual launch.
The Elevation trim will feature a choice between the truck’s Standard Range and Extended Range battery packs. The AT4 will be configurable with either the Extended Range or the Max Range battery pack, while the Denali will offer the full selection of battery packs: Standard, Extended and Max Range.
For the Elevation trim, standard features will include a 16.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a power-operated front eTrunk, Big Red’s MultiPro tailgate, and 18-inch wheels. Optional features for the Elevation include the MultiPro MidGate extending cargo space into the cab, an 800-volt DC fast charge system, and Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist technology.
The AT4 trim level of the 2026 GMC Sierra EV, meanwhile, will get Super Cruise as standard, along with 4-Wheel Steer and CrabWalk, an exclusive AT4 interior colorway dubbed Forest Storm and a ground clearance increase of two inches. Its optional features include those found on the Elevation plus 120-volt and 240-volt truck bed outlets and 12,200 pounds of towing capability.
The 2026 model year will also arrive with a considerably expanded palette of exterior paint colors along with several other updates and changes. Referring to the launch of the Elevation and AT4 trims, Jaclyn McQuaid (Buick GMC global VP) said that “with these additional trims and customer options, the Sierra EV is positioned right in the heart of the premium truck market.”
She added “the Sierra EV is a real truck that does real truck things, matched with EV performance and advanced tech, and now with the expansion of the line-up, we can’t wait to get more customers behind the wheel.”
All trims and versions of the GMC Sierra EV ride on the GM BT1 platform under the body panels. Motivation is provided by GM battery packs and GM drive motor technology. Production of the 2026 truck – which is expected to kick off on May 19th, 2025 – will continue to take place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

Does the AT4 EV have locking diffs?
It’s not a bad looking truck…take that electric motor out and put a V8 or Hybrid in it’s place then this truck would sell. I’m not against EV”s but I think it’s apparent that people don’t really want EV’s right now…at least not at these prices!
