2026 Chevy Trailblazer, Buick Encore GX Already In Production

Production of the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer and 2026 Buick Encore GX is now officially underway, with both crossovers carrying over largely unchanged compared to the preceding 2025 model year. Both subcompact crossovers were also refreshed for the 2024 model year, with additional updates made for 2025, including a new E85-compatible engine. That all said, it remains to be seen how the recent Trump tariffs will affect pricing going forward.

New units of the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer and 2026 Buick Encore GX began rolling off the line on April 1st, 2025 at the GM Bupyeong plant, located in South Korea.

For the latest 2026 model year, updates are relatively limited, with just a few simple changes like a new exterior paint option and the deletion of the standard spare tire, the latter of which has been replaced with a tire inflator kit.

For the moment, the starting price for the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer trim level cadence breaks down as follows:

  • LS – $24,295
  • LT – $25,495
  • RS – $28,895
  • Activ – $28,895

Meanwhile, starting prices for the 2026 Buick Encore GX break down as follows:

  • Preferred – $27,295
  • Sport Touring (ST) – $28,495
  • Avenir – $32,795

To note, all prices listed here include destination freight charge.

Critically, both vehicles now face the added complexity of new U.S. import tariffs introduced by the Trump administration. A new 25-percent duty on vehicles assembled outside the U.S. is expected include the Trailblazer and Encore GX, given both are produced in South Korea, and while several aspects of Trump’s latest tariff policy have been adjusted, the new vehicle import tax has, so far at least, remained in place.

With automakers weighing the new taxes, inventory management is already showing signs of disruption as imported vehicle stock begins to accumulate at U.S. ports. Looking ahead, it’s expected that vehicle price tags will reflect the impact of the new tariffs as automakers pass costs on to consumers, although at this point, it remains uncertain exactly how big the impact may be.

  • Wouldn't be great if all American brand auto's were assembled in America but MARY would rather put foreign people to work rather than Americans..She is responsible for all this crap...

  • What is crap is you have no knowledge of what has been happening in auto industry the last 20 years. Mary saved G.M. after bankruptsy just like Lee Iacooca did Chrysler starting in 1979. You were still in diapers ? You must be. Never suggest your diaper is full of it all the time. She put millions back to work Canada + U .S.of A. You don*t work for Honda or Ford or Mercedes etc. do you??? HMMMMMM!!!! Do you spend a fortune in diapers???

  • It's a Global Company, We wouldn't have this situation if we all bought American made stuff from the beginning... Right? Nobody cares where it's made, Heck all those Trump flag waving Americans are driving anything but GM, Ford or what's left of Chrysler. Most of my Trump neighbors ran out and bought all the foreign cars before the Tariffs take affect...

    • Right on . Finally some one with the guts and brains to tell it as it is. No BULLONEY
Just the facts that are accurate.

    • Most of my neighbors are transplants and MAGA fans from Long Island/New Jersey and not one drives a GM or Ford product.

  • No need to worry right now because it takes 3 months for them to arrive in California and then added time to reach the middle and eastern US. Trump will have changed his mind 100 times (or more) by then.
The “Korean Four” won’t sell with big price bumps. Not at this end of the pricing spectrum.
