Some 2025 GMC Yukon and 2025 GMC Yukon XL SUVs are included in an emission recall voluntarily issued by General Motors. The recall refers to a problem in which the optional $850 Performance Air Intake (RPO K53) may be missing equipment.
As a reminder, the recall – which carries Emission Recall number N252497440 – relates to emissions only and is not a safety recall.
The problem: GM notes that equipment related to the optional Performance Air Intake may not have been installed in some units. The GM documentation related to the recall implies that SUVs ordered with the Performance Air Intake didn’t have the option installed before delivery.
The hazards: uninstalled equipment related to the intake system may make affected units noncompliant with emissions laws. It could also affect the engine’s performance.
The fix: GMC Yukon and GMC Yukon XL units affected by the recall will have their intake systems inspected and corrected accordingly. The Performance Air Cleaner will be installed on SUVs that are missing the proper components.
Affected components: Performance Airbox
Affected vehicles:
Number of affected vehicles: it’s unclear at this time how many units are affected by the recall. Since the Performance Air Intake is only optional on Yukon and Yukon XL models equipped with the 6.2L V8 L87 engine, it only affects the AT4, AT4 Ultimate, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trims. Elevation variants are unaffected since they’re unavailable with the 6.2L V8 L87 engine.
Owners should: owners of affected Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs will be notified by GM. Additionally, The General has placed a stop sale on affected SUVs currently in dealership inventory, meaning they cannot be sold, delivered, used in demonstrations, or traded to other dealerships until the correct intake components are installed.

it is a air intake. Why would anyone pay this much for a “GM” one, when the aftermarket is flooded with them. They all add about the same amount of horsepower, which is not much at all.
