The 2025 GMC Terrain brings in several changes to the compact crossover’s exterior color palette with the arrival of the third generation, complementing its overhauled truck-type styling cues and new technology.
GM axed two paint colors from the 2025 GMC Terrain lineup and added two new ones as indirect replacements, with one of these – Rapids Metallic – being explored in detail in this post.
Rapids Metallic is tagged with color code GAL and touch-up paint code WA-225K, and is a bright metallic medium blue. It joins the six paint colors available on the 2025 GMC Terrain, with the addition of Sterling Metallic or Ebony Twilight Metallic roofs boosting the options on offer to 12 combinations. The colors include those listed below:
- Ebony Twilight Metallic (GB8)
- Ebony Twilight Metallic with Sterling Metallic roof (GB8/26R)
- Sterling Metallic (GXD)
- Sterling Metallic with Ebony Twilight Metallic roof (GXD/94T)
- Summit White (GAZ)
- Summit White with Ebony Twilight Metallic roof (GAZ/94T)
- Volcanic Red Tintcoat (GNT)
- Volcanic Red Tintcoat with Ebony Twilight Metallic roof (GNT/94T)
- Rapids Metallic (GAL – new for 2025)
- Rapids Metallic with Ebony Twilight Metallic roof (GAL/94T – new for 2025)
- Riverstone Metallic (GFR – new for 2025)
- Riverstone Metallic with Ebony Twilight Metallic roof (GFR/94T – new for 2025)
The 2025 GMC Terrain can be optioned with Rapids Metallic – which is an extra-charge color – for an additional $495. Rapids Metallic can also be combined with the Ebony Twilight Metallic roof (color code 94T) for $495 more, making a total price of $990. Any GMC Terrain interior colorway can be ordered in conjunction with Rapids Metallic, which is a metallic, non-tintcoat paint.
The 2025 Terrain features this quartet of interior colorways for reference purposes:
- After Dark, Premium Cloth (EKV)
- Gideon Gray / After Dark, Premium Cloth (H90)
- After Dark, CoreTec (H9F)
- Gideon Gray / After Dark, CoreTec (HFL)
Pricing for the Elevation trim of the 2025 Terrain ranges from $31,395 starting MSRP when equipped with front-wheel drive to the all-wheel drive variant’s $33,395. Included in these figures is a standard $1,395 destination freight charge. Customers can try out builds and start custom orders using the online configurator.
The turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine developing 175 horsepower as well as 184 (FWD) or 203 (AWD) pound-feet of torque is the sole powerplant available for the compact crossover. The GM D2 platform provides structure under the body panels, the GM San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico serving as the place of production.
