After debuting in the 2024 model year with just a single available exterior paint, the 2025 GMC Sierra EV gets no less than five new colors for the second model year, greatly increasing the selection of hues buyers of the battery-electric pickup can choose from.
This is our guide to the Onyx Black paint color, which adds a basic black option to the palette of choices on the 2025 GMC Sierra EV.
Onyx Black is identified by color code GBA and touch-up paint code WA-8555, joining five other colors that provide the model’s full paint selection. The following list shows all of the exterior paints offered on the 2025 GMC Sierra EV:
- Dark Ember Tintcoat (GAB – new for 2025)
- Deep Ocean Metallic (GAI – new for 2025)
- Moonlight Matte (GLG – new for 2025)
- Onyx Black (GBA – new for 2025)
- Summit White (GAZ – new for 2025)
- Thunderstorm Gray (GNO)
Onyx Black is neither a metallic nor a tintcoat paint color, and is offered as a no-charge paint option for the 2025Â GMC Sierra EV. Both of the interior colorways available for the EV pickup can be chosen in conjunction with Onyx Black.
As a reminder, those two interior colorways for the Sierra EV cockpit include one tan and one black option, as follows:
- After Dark
- Desert Dune
The starting price of the only trim level currently available – the Denali – is set at $91,995 for the Extended Range configuration, increasing to $100,495 for Denali Max Range. A $2,095 destination freight charge is already calculated into these prices. The Elevation trim will likely join the pickup’s trim level walk this year as the base trim. Also incoming is the AT4 trim, equipped with trail-ready features such as red recovery hooks, Crabwalk, four-wheel steering, Terrain Mode, standard high definition Surround Vision, the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist features, and two extra inches of ground clearance.
GM drive motors and GM batteries form the powertrain that propels the 2025 Sierra EV. Output from these electric motors is 645 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque or 760 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque respectively for the Extended Range and the Max Range configurations.
The Sierra EV rides on the GM BT1 platform under the sheet metal. The GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan is the current site of production, though the GM Lake Orion plant will also start assembling the model in the near future.
